Yesterday when I went to the GI doc...I had to get on the scale and I've gained 4 pounds since I saw him last month! I guess it's because I have been able to eat most anything without any trouble and am now craving things like milkshakes, etc. (I've only had one) Also, I think it's from not having D. And some of it has to do with it about being "that time of the month"....ya know....water retention. But I DO need to start exercising more. Last night I took my dog for a walk around 9:00. It was just getting dark and we live out in the country....no street lights. We were walking along and something jumped out of the grass and hit my foot! I was imediately thinking SNAKE! But, looked down and it was a big toad! I carried him home (he peed on me twice!) and released him in our garden!

Nugget,
You are so funny. You saved the toad and put up with him peeing on you all the way home.
I'm with ya on the whole exercising thing. I have been off work since June 12th and my plan was to exercise and get in shape before I had to go back in Aug. I haven't done it one day yet. Now I only have a week and a half before I go back. Maybe we can inspire each other to find the time to work out.
I was sorry to hear that you are going to have to start over with the hpno cd's. I am getting ready to start session 4. I don't always know if it is helping but I am going to stick with it until the end.

I spent the day with my mom and we ate at DQ today....the steak strip basket & diet coke. Soooo good. I'm trying to be like you!! ha ha Tummy.... so far so good.... but tomorrow could be a different story. I do feel like a beached whale, though.
I have a hard time excersing, too. Walking my dog is about it except for running around our super Walmart....oh, and yes, mowing the lawn. Guess that's pretty good, though. Not just sitting on my butt all day.
Bet the toad has a nice home.

I know what you mean! I was able to eat ANYTHING while pregnant with Ben so I was a regular at BK, Mickey D's and Dairy Queen. My poor doctor couldn't figure out how I was gaining so much weight...LOL...I didn't have the heart to tell her I was binging because my IBS was in remission
Since Ben has been born, my sister and I walk for a minimum of one hour a day. And I have really noticed a difference. I am actually back in the clothes I was wearing before Ben...well, I should exaggerate...I have gotten them on, but some are still kinda tight!
But just walking for one hour a day does make a difference, but I found if I have a mission it makes it alot easier. I would walk and drop off some film for my camera. And the next day go pick it up. Oh yeah, and I have gotten into buying the newspaper and Powerade just so I have somewhere to walk. I just chose stores that are farther away rather than the one around the corner so it's more of a mission!
Have fun!

I hear ya, it's hard to get in an excercise routine! I have a yoga tape (can't afford a class right now), but have only used it once in the last couple months. just can't seem to motivate myself to get up early and use it! I have been making myself go jogging in the park at least twice a week. It's a good work out, the walk to the park is a good workout in itself! I like how the excercise makes me feel full of energy. Good luck with it. getting outside into nature makes it ALOT more pleasant, doesn't it?
Also, don't worry about a silly four pounds! I have learned to not even look at the scale during that time of the month (I know that you couldn't really avoid that at the doctor's though)
Good for you for putting up with that toad.... after the FIRST time he peed on me I would have launched him into the nearest bush! (j/k)
