Six more weeks before the kids start school!!! I can't wait they are driving me absolutely insane!!!! They fight, wrestle, taunt each other, slam doors and eat constantly thru the day,its nothing to go thur $120 a week on groceries.I am ready to rip my hair out,my 8 yr old has the most irritating whine and everything out of her mouth lately is a whine! I wanna run away, just for one week, all alone!!!!

Hi,
I know just how you feel. Sometimes when it was raining outside I would get some play dough and sit at the table with the boys and we would make things together. That kept them busy for a while. Also, I would put a plastic swimming pool in the back yard and they would play in that. Could you get them some kids movies to watch....maybe at least you could have a little peace and quiet.
I'm so glad mine are grown.
Good luck Barbie

Hey there. I'm counting the days too! My boy will be in the first grade. And my little girl will be in pre-school. They fight too. And it drives me crazy! What is even harder is trying to go shopping with them. I cant wait for some quiet time!!!!!

Oh do I feel your pain. My summer has gone very well with my kids - maybe it has to do something with spending more time with their friends than mom. My husband is the one who can't wait for the kids to go back to school.
I work three nights a week and that does help me stay sane.

Not sure if they have it in the states, but there's a commercial for an office (school) supply store in Canada that runs every year for back to school. It has what sounds like a Christmas carole "It's the most wonderful time of the year". The family is at the store with the kids sulking while the father is gleefully pushing the cart with a big smile on his face.

The first year that both my kids were in school fulltime(i had a long wait, they are 4 years apart).I drove them to school and walked them to each of their classrooms with a big smile on my face and whistling that disney song"Zippy Do Da" and my kids kept telling me to "knock it off!!" LOL.

I always loved having my kids at home, too! Two of mine are grown with their own families, and I still miss being their "mommy". My daughter still lets me baby her and take care of her, but it's not the same as when she lived with me. My oldest son has moved away and I hardly ever get to see him anymore and even though he moved out almost 10 years ago, I've never gotten used to him being gone and I don't think I ever will.
