Famous people, dead or alive, have never interested me. I'd like to meet some of my ancestors... specifically, the ones who were born in other countries and came over here. I'd love to know their stories.
The bummer is that my paternal great-grandparents were born in Lebanon, and I KNEW them, but between their health problems (strokes left them kind of not-quite-right) and a bit of a language barrier, I never really talked to them. My loss, for sure.

I'd love to meet Fred Astaire too, but there is NO WAY I'd keep up with him on the dance floor!

Princess Diana, would love to tell her i admire her strength and courage for putting up with the Royal family! Would love to know how someone so beautiful and loved by the world could have such low self esteem?

Dorothy Parker. I'd go for martinis with her at the Algonquin Round Table and try to match wits.

Just one??? I'd probably meet either of my grandparents on my dad's side; both died long before I was born.
If I could pick a living one, too, it'd have to be Bono.

I remember when Christopher Reeve was on a soap called Love of Life. We thought he was soooooo cute. My cousin and I would rush home from the pool every day during the summer and watch Love of Life and All My Children. We were teens.
Some great memories for me and I haven't thought about that in a long time. My cousin died of breast cancer last year. So very sad, she was my age.

I would really love to meet Ghandi....or the Dali Lama....I would love to talk to them about spirituality and listen to their beliefs on life, the world, etc.
My third choice would be Maddonna cuz she's just so awesome!!! I'd love to go out drinking with her cuz I think she'd be a blast!!

Ooohh!! My mom just met him, in Louisiana. He was giving a speech/lecture about hope/never giving up. When she was telling it to me I was crying. He is amazing. What a strong person. He was telling a story about how after the accident he would cry and cry and worry about not being a good father because he couldn't do anything....and then one day he taught his son how to ride his bike by just describing it and encouraging him....and after that he realized he could teach them anything, just in a different way. My mom said she was in tears most of the speech. I would love to meet him!

LAME? I think that's an awesome answer!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to meet ancestors - or even grandparents that I never met.
Hmm...you know who would be a cool person to meet? Harriet Tubman. Maybe people think that's lame...but it's the first person that popped into my head. I love her story, and I'd love to meet someone who made such a difference and freed herself from slavery.

OMG I'm sitting here reading who everyone would like to meet and they were all kinda like "deep" people (that I'm embarrassed to say that I never heard of some of them!) then you said Madonna and she is who I would want to meet too! I didn't put my answer down originally. Wanted to see all the varieties of answers and then I read yours! I have always loved her. I saw her in concert when I was like 16, did the whole dressing like her and all. It was really fun. She just really intriques me. She has this totally wild side then she can be somewhat classy when she wants to be.

I know what you mean!! I love her too!! I can't believe you saw her in concert...I'm so jealous!! I've always wanted to see her. She's actually coming to Toronto this summer but her concert was sold out in 15 minutes so I couldn't get tickets!!
I think she embodies what my idea of a strong, indepedant woman is. She can be crazy, she can be emotional, sexual, spiritual....she can be so many things all at once and I think that's the beauty of being a woman....and she's not afraid to show it and be herself....
Anyway...now that I've just gone on and on about Maddonna....
Which tour was she on when you saw her by the way?? I think my fave was her "blond ambition" tour....
wow I'm a geek!!
