If it's not one thing it's another.

Just spoke to the doc about the results of the MRI of my neck to see if nerve damage there was causing the withering in my left wrist. Negative on that, but guess what?

I have a nodule on my thyroid. It's probably nothing to worry about but I have to call my regular doc on Monday to see if he wants to procede with an ultrasound.

I found the following on a website:

One in 12 to 15 women has a thyroid nodule
One in 40 to 50 men has a thyroid nodule
More than 90 percent of all thyroid nodules are benign (non-cancerous growths)

So I'm not worried, but I feel like the medical system has me in its clutches now and this is going to be my life from now on. Ratzafratz!

I don't think you have anything to worry about with that nodule thing. Don't let that ruin your beach vacation.
We will have to kick the medical system's butt so it will let you out of it's clutches.

Oy.

What next?

Makes one wonder, "WHY LS?" "What next?" And the answer that immediately comes to my mind is that you simply handle it so much better than most. Certainly better than me.

LS, are you still gonna go on vacation? How long will you be gone? Will you call the doc from the beach? Will you have the ultrasound when you get back, then?

Damn.

Yes, I'm going on vacation, yes, I'm calling the doctor from the beach (how else can I make him jealous with the sound of the waves and the seagulls!), no, it's not urgent, yes, I'll have the ultrasound when I get back. Okay? Any other questions??!!

Vacation is from this Sunday 7/18 through Thursday 7/29.

Have fun on your vacation. Don't worry! Maybe the nodule on the thyroid is nothing much. Good Luck! I take medication for thyroid everyday, slow thyroid. Let us know...

I'm so sorry - life sucks sometimes doesn't it!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that everything is OK. I used to know a lot of people who had lumps removed from their thyroid (we went to the same clinic)and all of them were absolutely fine. Personally my thyroid is kaput, but the replacement medication works wonders and doesn't even have any side efects - I don't even notice anything now.

Best of luck - and try not to worry to much. I always think that ultrasounds are quite fun. If you get the full body one they are very space age!

Don't worry Bev... she's probably just rushed getting ready to get out the door. I know that feeling myself today.

Sorry, sweetie, I didn't mean to sound grumpy. I was trying to be funny. Guess I failed!!

I'm freakin out a bit getting ready for this trip. I have never traveled well and now it's just impossible. And my poor princeling, Andy, knows it and feels guilty about it but can't admit it so he just gets hyper and over-organizes everything trying to take care of me, but it doesn't help, it just annoys me. I know he means well and is doing the best he can, and I know it's kinda backwards to be dreading vacation rather than looking forward to it, but there you go and what can you do? So I pretend to be fine and he pretends to be fine and everything's fine but it's not.

Don't worry, we've been doing this dance for 23 years now, so I'm used to it. I love him to pieces, but sometimes I'd like to smash him to pieces!!

Well, enough whining and complaining. On a lighter note, I just excavated the floor of my closet looking for the shoes I want to take and found not one, but TWO PAIR of shoes I forgot I had!! So it's like Christmas and I got two presents!! So fibro f(r)og has its advantages, too!!

So anyway, sorry again, Bevvy. I'm just totally nuts right now, and it's gonna get worse before it gets better, so I apologize in advance to EVERYONE!!! (he he, that's efficient, isn't it?!)
