I went in to Outback Steakhouse yesterday to fill out an application, and the manager came up front and told me to come back for an interview today at 2, so when I did I walked in and the first thing the girl did was make me take a math test!!! I freaked for a minute and then took some deep breaths, took out some scrap paper, and did my best. THEN I had to take a personality test! *Sigh* Anyway, while we were waiting for the results he interviewed me and said, "Well...I'm ready to hire you so all we need is to get those test results to see if you passed. If you passed, you're hired."
SO, after taking tests for and hour and a half, then goign through a horrible interview, I had to sit there by myself for 15 minutes waiting. He comes back to the table and goes, "What was I thinkin...sheesh, you passed with flying colors!!" So then he tells me I'm hired, and I go in on Wednesday for orientation! Then I have to go through training which includes classes, shadowing, and HOMEWORK! Just when schools lets out But anyway, thanks for reading my posts and for wishing me luck! It helped!!
Now I have to figure out how to tell my current boss

Aren't you glad now that you didn't get stuck working for that other place taht has no clue what's going on? Now you're at a spot that knows what a good employee you'll be and doesn't beat around the bush!

Yaay! Outback Steakhouse, eh? I've never been there, but I guess they serve dead cow?
What is "shadowing"? I can understand the need to know how to collect money and make change, but who will you have to "shadow"? And why?
And why do you have HOMEWORK? What the -- ???
Strange place, Outhouse.
Well, Sweetie, I'm glad you found a job that interests you. Someone finally got smart and hired you. They won't be sorry, I'm sure. You'll make a FABULOUS waitress.

I think that's what I'll do. Open up a restaurant just for you. I'll have lots and lots of different type of steaks, and if you're not in a dead cow mood, I'll have Lobster. The restaurant will be completely not smoke free and there will be no trees to block your view of the parking lot. But ah, don't worry, I'll leave in a tap dancing floor for you

Haha thanks you guys! And I'm not sure what exactly the math tests were for...but I had to take a personality test and he said I'd be the friendliest, happiest worker there because I passed it with "flying colors." Good to know Anyway, I'm just a hostess, no one special, but he said that my orientation includes 4 HOURS of listening to him talk about everything. I hope that's interesting lol Then I have to meet everybody and learn how to do everything. I hope my training doesn't take toooooooo long. I wanna start making some money! He said that wiht my base wage plus tips from the servers, I should make about $150 a weekend. I need that! lol
But I love steak

Jessica,
This sounds like the perfect job for you! Pooey on old Sears! Aren't you glad now that that job didn't work out? This will be much more fun---and you'll probably make more money.
Have fun! My friend's daughter is a hostess at Macaroni Grill and she loves it.

Hey, Jamie, while you're at it, be sure everyone in that restaurant of yours talks with their mouths full and chews with their mouths open. Oh, and be sure their cell phones are ringing, Mariah Carey is screaming over the speakers, the restaurant is out of Jack, and all the toilet seats are left up!
