Cara, I'm with you on this guy. For a long time, every time I saw him on TV, he just disgusted me, and I couldn't figure out why. He just looked really UGLY to me -- and then, just the other day, a light bulb went on! I now know why I find him so repulsive:

Do you remember the episode on "Friends" when he dated Rachel? He had a mean side to him in which he became enraged for no reason whatsoever, but no one saw it except Rachel. He played that role so convincingly that I still see that maniac every time I see his ugly face.

I guess that's what you'd call a good actor -- but I have a hard time separating the actor from the freak.

It's like Ed Herman. He was so great as Glenn Miller that every time I think of Glenn Miller I picture Ed Herman, and whenever I hear Herman on the cable history channel emceeing antique car programs, I keep thinking of Glenn Miller.

Ditto with Gary Bussey. To me, he'll always be Buddy Holly.

The problem with these is that I don't have one specific favourite movie and I'll also forget about ones sometimes til someone mentions it, and then I'll think, 'oh ya,I realy liked that one too'

so in no particular order:
Shawshank redemption
Amelie
It could happen to you
Life is Beautiful
Top Gun
Hunt for red October
Vanilla Sky
and the older James Bond films are fun (silly, but fun)

Bev,
I remember that episode!! That's so funny. He is gross to me too! I wonder if it was just a different person playing his roles if they would bother me? I think it's just HIM. For some reason he looks hunchback and just gross to me. And I really didn't like that movie 'Something about Mary' because of him! He just grossed me out the whole time - that was the kicker for me.
My husband is dying to see 'Dodgeball' (Yes, he likes really corny movies a lot), and I am just dreading it because of Ben.
I thought I was the only one!

I can't stand Ben Stiller, and I never watched Friends, so I can't even blame that. Just don't like him. Yuck.

Yes! I am showing these posts to my husband about Ben Stiller later. He thinks I'm crazy.

Ok but I am probably the only one with this -- (dont laugh)...I have an AWFUL phobia of 'little people' and muppets and E.T. I feel SOOO bad about the little people thing - it's hard to explain - like if there is one of them, I'm ok...but if it's like a CROWD of them - I can't handle it. For example, the Lord of the Rings movies - I watched about 30 minutes with my husband and almost threw up! I couldn't even have him watching it in our apartment because I could hear their voices and it made me sick! Isn't that wierd?!?!

Also - I HATE the muppets, they make me nausous, and E.T. In 6th grade my Spanish class was watching E.T. in Spanish, and I got a note to sit out of class for those 2 days.
I thought this 'phobia' would go away when I got older....and I mean it's better - but I just get these really weird nausous feelings.

I've got to be the only one with that.... LOL!

BTW - if anyone else reads this I really hope I didn't offend anyone with the little people thing. I don't know why I'm like that!
