I get D and indigestion - no nausea from olive oil. But I do always get D when I eat it!
I don't know what did it tonight, but I am having an awful night. Maybe it's that time of the month - it's about that time.

I hear ya Bev. Sometimes I just want to stop everything and give up!
And Nutz over Chocolate = YUMMY. But I also like the peppermint ones. Have you had the Orange Bliss?? If not - don't waste your money in my opinion! I had to choke it down.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time lately. I am too. Hopefully it'll pass soon. It's just so hard to figure out what's giving me D -is it the fiber? Too much? Too little? Something I ate? Stress? Did I eat too much? Too fast? I just wish I knew what did it everytime, it's so hard to pin point it.

Good luck!

Actually, I love nuts, but along with my IBS I developed an intolerance to peanuts. All other nuts are fine! I actually had one of those Nutz over Chocolate bars not thinking about the fact that it might contain peanuts. It was VERY tasty... but also made me sick. Sigh. Too bad you didn't like the mint... but I'll stick to that one!

Cara,

I'm sorry you're not well. Is there something in the air?

Did you read Cathie's post from yesterday in the Diet Board? The subject was, "Article found... looks interesting and hopeful." It's very interesting, all about serotonin playing a significant role in cells lining the GI tract. Check it out.

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that perhaps it's NOT so much about our choice of food but how our gut handles that food, dependent on our serotonin levels. And, I don't know about you, but my serotonin levels are all thrown off in hot (and especially humid!) weather.

I just think no matter what I do, it's got to run its course. Hopefully this time it'll be a short course.

I hope it'll be a short course for you too, Cara. Try to sleep it off.

Bev

Sis and WIW,

Don't even THINK such a thing! OMG! There's NO WAY I'm gonna give up my beloved SoyFee! Hey, I had to give up real coffee, that was really tough. I'll be DAMNED if I'm giving up SoyFee. That's asking too much -- WAAAAY too much. That's just above and beyond the call. I don't deserve that much torture.

No way, NOHOW! Nuh-Uh.

Actually, I started having problems long after I started the SoyFee. I checked my food journal just to be sure. (I had the same thoughts you guys did.) Turns out I was just starting to increase my Benefiber a few days ago, in conjunction with my morning cramps. It all clicks.

BUT -- tomorrow morning is the test. I'll have my beloved cuppa but NO Benefiber. If I still have cramps, then ....

well, I'll just have to go out in the garden and eat worms.

Red meat? Boo hiss! I gave that stuff up in 1985 and never missed it. Now when I see it, even on TV or in the grocery store it just totally grosses me out.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new home! WOW! That's PHENOMENAL! Your parents totally ROCK! Let me say this about that, Ashley: when I went to college, it was in Richmond, just a small professional art institute (I don't think it's there anymore). I lasted all of 3 months when my parents called me and said they could not afford to continue sending me there and I would have to come back home. I accepted it and went home. I got a job and my parents made me pay rent.

I never really resented it, but I found it odd that my parents were able to send both of my brothers to college (okay, my older brother got a scholarship to Brown and Stanford, but they still had to pay something I'm sure) and even sent my younger brother to college for TEN LONG YEARS. While I stayed home and paid rent.

Then, to really slap me in the face, when I got engaged and set the date, they couldn't even afford to give me a wedding! I was their only daughter, the only one they had to "give away." I had to gave myself a wedding (with the help of my fiance and his parents) with no help from my parents whatsoever. Now isn't that a little odd?

Okay, sorry. I'm venting. But the point is this: your parents are doing a marvelous thing for you; this is just fabulous, and I couldn't be happier for you.

Think maybe your parents will adopt me?

Bev

P.S.: I LOVE Crate & Barrel!

Hi,

I know.. I need to give up beef, but I LOVE IT. I'm trying though, I eat it way less than once a month.. which is GOOD FOR ME.

Anyways, I am definitly lucky to have my parents. I do still have to pay them rent (haha I am almost 23, I can't live off them forever), but not nearly as much as I would be paying someone trying to make money off me to pay THEIR mortage. I'm really so lucky to have them they are amazing. They have helped me and my brother and sister out so much. My mom had a similar upbringing to you, so she has tried to give us whatever we need to make it easier for us to be successful. The one stipulation for them paying for our undergraduate education was that if we ever got below a B we had to pay for the class, and we had to hold down a part time job to learn work ethic and actually be able to pay for our own clothing, shoes, food etc.

Anyways, they are helping me out alot..

I am watching the miss virginia pagent right now and it is TRAGIC. oh lord.. anyways, hope your stomach feels better. mine still isnt' the greatest.. hopefully it clears up before the DOUBLE I have to work tomorrow. ugh.
