I am undergoing tests for what I assumed was IBS. Now that the doctor has introduced other possibilities, and I'm having to wait 1-2 weeks for tests and results, I'm getting very anxious. Anyone else battle this? I've got myself pushing up daisies in my mind and my next tests don't even happen until Monday! Any suggestions? I'm afraid I'm beginning to over-react to everything! I don't like this at all! Very not "me".

IBS is far and away the most common diagnosis in visits to GI docs. Chances are that's all you have. He's just being thorough like a good doc should. But the odds are STRONGLY in favor of you "just" having IBS! And stressing out about it will just trigger an attack, so take a DEEP BREATH and do something to take your mind off it, a trashy novel, daytime TV, crossword puzzles online, Freecell (my fave).
Okay, bama??!! PS liked your Star Trek ref in your other post!! BEAM ME UP, SCOTTIE!!

Hi! I'm a worrier too! Especially with medical stuff - I alwasy fear the worst. One positive to keep in mind though, is that you have had the test and you are finding out what is really going on with you - that is important. Even if it is not the best of news from the tests, at least they will know what it is and you will go on to some next step of treatment. It is also certaily likely that you will hear good news from your tests and there could be less wrong with you than you originally thought. I know tests are no fun and waiting can be horribly nerve racking and wreak havoc on our nervous little tummies - but knowing what is really wrong with us is important. At the same time I say this as a chicken myslef. Within the next two months I will undergo both a papsmear and a colonoscopy and I'm dreading both!! Let us know how your results come back. Min
