Hello Hello.. i've got some exciting news for ya'll.

My mother is OBSESSED with Ronald Reagan.. we have his picture in our office at our house... it is that bad. haha. I don't remember much about him.. be it that I was born in 1981. Anyways, since we live only miles from DC, my mom decided to go see president reagan lying in state at the capital rotunda. I was dragged along.

We waited in line... nearly four hours long.. on an INSANELY hot day.. for what we thought would be a minute among reagan's coffin. However, once we filed into the room, the secret service filed in after us and made us stay in the room.. and lo and behold only moments later, president George W. Bush and Laura Bush came in to pay their respects less than 2 feet away from me..

haha I'm in the front row if you catch in on CNN. Out of thousands of people in line.. we were the lucky few that were able to share the momemt with the current president of the United States. It was amazing, a surreal experience. It was incredible that he chose to spend this moment, with he citizens of America. It was DEFINITLY worth standing in line for four hours for!

That's so neat! That must have been an awesome experience! I got to see him on our trip to DC in 8th grade, but I didn't get to stand that close to him! That's a fantastic experience!!

And I hope your hair looked fantabulous!! (I bet it did!) I'll look for ya on our local news if they decide to report it. We don't get CNN

Yes.. it was pretty cool!

Anyways, my time at home is ok.. we didn't move here until I was in college though, so I have not a single friend in all of virginia.. which kinda bums me out! so it is more than a little bit boring.. I've been spending my days with my parents.

I do get to talk to Vinnie more than once a day.. usually three times a day which is great.. but sometimes its a little tense. He's staying with his parents as well, but he grew up in that town so he's going out and having fun which makes me jealous...but i'm trying not to show it too much, because its not his fault.. and of course I want him to have fun. it just sucks that i'm not having too much of it.

Hopefully we'll see each other soon though. I'm missing him like crazy.. and its only been 12 days.

hows things with your fam going.. hopefully you're feeling better?!?

Well I hope you can make some friends while your there. Do you have any sisters? They make pretty good friends!

Do you guys plan on seeing each other through the summer? I hope so!

Anyways, my family is still in shock. We just can't believe what is happening and the choices my sister made...(not a very good one, she regrets it badly now) So we are just taking it one day at a time. we hope her husband can forgive her someday and that there might be a chance to stay togeather.....I don't see that happening any time soon

But we just have to stay strong and be loving to her and her family...we all love her husband so much too. So I'm just praying that things will work out. This is a big lesson for my sister and hopefully it will make us all stronger people!

Ya know I think its hard for me because I have been in this situation before to. I wasn't the one to make the mistake though. So I know how her husband feels. It made me a stronger person...and I was able to move on with my husband.

I'm hoping for the best! Sorry...I didn't mean to right a novel!!!

Have a good night....oh hows the eating going? It was me and you that wanted to loose like 5-10 lbs...my 4's are still tight. I hope to start loosing here soon!!!!! I guess I need to work out!!!! Easier said than done!!!

Ok...bye, bye!!!

Ashley, how did you manage to stand in that long line in the heat? That's all I could think about when I first learned that it was so hot back there, and that there was such a long wait. I could never do it; my IBS would have kicked in BIG time. The heat would have triggered an attack; I'd have to leave my place in line to find a bathroom.

How did you do it?!

Bev

He was in our college town campaigning for our state govenor, and we wound up right in front of the stand where he was speaking. Lo and behold, he came down from the podium on our end and my entire family got to shake his hand! Was, as you describe it, surreal. You'll never forget the experience! Congrats for experiencing such a historic moment!

Good For You Ashley!!

I will look to see when they show the pictures again if I can spot your from you picture that's posted. Did you get one of the cards they gave out? They showed them on tv earlier this morning. If you did put it in a sealer as one day it will be a great collectible.

Hey,

I do have a sister, but she stayed in Massachusetts for the summer, because she's still in college. So its just me and my brother, but he's pretty busy working alot, and then visiting with his girlfriend from college every weekend. I'm hoping to find another job so that I can make some friends.

Me and Vinnie do plan on seeing each other this summer, but I'm not entirely sure when we will be able to. Hopefully soon, but we are both still settling in, trying to find a job, etc. But he plans to come down here, I am planning a trip up there, and we are hoping to meet in NewYork sometime too, because that is our (almost) halfway point.. and the onlyplace we can be alone minus our parents. Which is pretty important considering i'm almost 23, and he's 24. haha.

As for the eating.. the fours are still tight on me as well. I can't really say that i've been trying all that hard to loose it.. I really gotta get started eating less, and working out more. I have looked into some gyms, but they are so expensive.

As for your family.. I hope everything works out.. Situations like this can make you stronger, so things may work out in the end. If they don't, I would assume that they would be less likely to happen in the future. I've got my fingers crossed!

You had a great experience - treasure it. Still can't figure out how you stood in line for so long, but you will never forget the day.
