Looking for Prednisone Success Stories (losing the weight you gained)

I am left with 11 days of prednisone before I'm finally off this miracle drug with the horrible side effects. 
I've gained 16 pounds and it feels like 60! I had all of the usual symptoms and am retaining a lot of fluid.
I'd like to hear about success stories. Stories that assure me that once I'm off this drug that my body will work its way down to it's usual size and that I will get to know my "new normal".

Hi Judy,
I'd like to know that myself.
What were you taking it for? If I may ask.
They want to put me on Pred and I've so far said "no thank you". If I the thyroid antibodies don't come down on their own I'll have no choice.
I don't know, 16 lbs is not a lot but if it makes you feel horrid then it is, to you!!!
Better watch talking about 60 year olds around these boards  ........there are a lot of them here, or some of us that are pushing it, but feel 35 (yeah, sure......but really some days that's true!)
I'm sure there are success stories..........I've known people on it and yes, after a while the weight came off.
Did you get the "puffiness" too?

This probably isn't going to be the most helpful post ever, but I figured I'd reply. I don't have personal experience with Prednisone, but a friend of mine has been on it on and off (since elementary school, so we're talking 20 years or so) for lupus. Every single time, yep, she's lost the weight.
