A few weeks ago I ordered some new slip on swede tennis shoes from Land's End. Well, I haven't worn them to work before til today and these two gals I work with just made fun of me and called them "Giligan Shoes" and were laughing so hard they were crying. I just want to go home. That's why I never change styles of clothes or try anything new because of people making fun of me. I feel like Rupert on Survivor when he was talking about being made fun of.

People can be so mean and inconsiderate, I would expect this from junior/high school, but from grown women! That is unheard of!
It's hard not to feel terrible when people act this way. They probably do not know what style is...myself, I like to see people wearing different things as that what makes everyone unique (not wearing the same "up to date fashions" as everyone else). Some people make fun of others when they are not self confident, to make themselves feel better. I don't know what your shoes look like, but I am sure they look fine, and as long as they are comfortable and YOU like them, that is all that should matter! I would ignore them, and don't give them the pleasure of having your friendship....

It's hard to imagine that people can be so petty. Try your best just to ignore their comments. Return their nastiness with your kindness because you are not like them!

That is unbelievable....grown women!! I understand, it is easy for you or me to say that "we don't care about what other people say or think", but in reality peoples words hurt the most. You are a much better person than both of them.
 Just had a thought....wouldn't it be funny if you had their names for christmas or something and bought them a pair too!!
