Okay, i read everyone's favorite recipe and I want to try them all!! especially the peppermint chocolate brownie!! ...but...what is everyone's Number 1, NIGHTMARE FOOD? just curious....
by the way I tried the new way of eating today for the most part (I had a little lean red meat slivered over my rice) and I was GOOD all night at work!! Hardley no bloating or gas. I can't wait to try the fennell tea. As a last resort I used to chew a 1/2 tsp of the seeds if I was really bloaty and crampy, the tea sounds much better, less grits. How much fennell for a cup of tea though? do I need to crush them first?

You're still eating red meat? Bad girl!
My nightmare food is either wholegrain bread (you know, the "nutty" kind) or dairy cream.

the idea of split pea soup makes me want to.... well, let's just say "run away."
i also HATE spearmint - really any mint except peppermint- so mint jelly on anything makes me ill. i actually get headaches and nausea from the smell of mint, so you can imagine my delight at the thought of eating some....
UGH.

Interesting about spit pea soup.........shows we're all different. It happens to be one of my comfort foods, with a handful of rice thrown in of course........
But I DO agree with you on spearmint..........it's peppermint only for this chick.
My scary foods are avacado, onions (especially raw) and spicey-hot foods. Strange, as pre-IBS I couldn't get enuf onions and was a real lover of Mexican food........grew up on the stuff in AZ.
I miss avacados, but eating an avacado triggered my most severe gall bladder attack, and I didn't eat them for 9 years. The year I started back was when I got IBS. I break into a cold sweat just looking at them, and that's not good since I live in the Avacado capital of the US...California.
Goes to show you how our systems change once we get IBS.

i am so in love with avacados that i was actually a little choked up when i found out that Heather's diet allowed them! they would be my biggest cheat if they weren't allowed.
i make a lot of Tex-Mex style food, so i would die without them and without onions, garlic, tomatoes and beans.
ummm.....
i'm hungry.

I'll take your peas and you take my avacados.........remember when I posted how they were named? and what they were named after in the Aztec culture?

Unfortunately, my nightmare food is ice cream... and also the alfredo sauces Ashley mentioned. Both have bothered me long before my IBS got bad and I don't even want to think of what would happen if I ate them now. Scary stuff.
Luckily, soy ice creams are awesome!

My nightmare foods are drinks... I hope that's ok. Beer and wine. If I have even a little beer I will be so sick the next morning!!! Just can't digest them at all.
