This sucks. I need to have some caffeine to stay awake to work, but I don't want to take it as my tummy is already aching!

Bl**dy hell! Everythings acting up tonight...IBS, Fibro... I've got a heat pad on my tummy and I've been drinking loads of Chamomile tea which is keeping the tummy ache under control, but is making me MORE sleepy. Had a codeine high for about 5 minutes, but now I'm ready to keel over. Any my joints are STILL killing me.

Sorry guys. I'm feeling really sorry for myself. And everyone's going to bed, so I've no-one to talk to either!

I'm a weather forecaster and I work a mixture of day and night shifts. I've got 3 weeks to go! Just can't wait.

Wish I could go home to my bed

Aww that really does suck, but on the bright side...only a few more weeks. You've probably mentioned this before, but where are you from? London? I love reading your posts where you use "English" words because North Americans often don't know what they mean but many of them are similar to South African words for things and I used to live there.

I work in London, but I live in Reading (40miles west of London) atm. My fiance and I have just bought a house in Newbury (20 miles to the west of Reading!), but it's in a right state so we're staying in our rented accomodation for a while. I'm from southern Hampshire originally - the New Forest.

That sounds exciting that you have a new house to look forward to. What kind of job do you want to do after you're done this one?

I'm going to do some weather forecasting myself for sailors. But I'll get a little regular job as well, hopefully in horticulture. I'm thinking of re-training and we need the money!

Linzy, what's going on? It seems to me that this happens at night -- at WORK. It's all about office stress, isn't it? I don't think you should work out your 3 weeks, honey. Surely they'll understand your health situation. Besides, most people give only 2 weeks' notice; your giving them a month was WAAAY above and beyond the norm. You need to get home and go to bed.

I'm really sorry. I feel for ya; frankly, I don't see how you do it. I couldn't.

Please feel better tomorrow.

Thanks Bevvy. You guys keep me sane, you really do.

The 4 weeks notice was written into my contract. I think it's more standard over here than with you guys. We need all the money we can get right now - I'm leaving earlier than I had thought I would because of the stress.

The bloody windows in our house need replacing asap for security, which we hadn't budgeted for.

I've just 2 1/2 hours left of this shift and then I get to go home for some sleep. Thursday I have a heap of wedding stuff to do (but it'll be fun and I get to see my best friend). Friday, I'm sleeping as much as possible. The painting will just have to wait.

I know all about that, Linzy. Our new home is costing a lot more than we had budgeted -- what else is new? -- It just happens that there are things that come up that you didn't think of -- and how could you? For example, we wanted a wrap-around porch, which we got and which we budgeted for, but we didn't realize that didn't include connecting the SIDE of the house with the BACK, so we have to have someone come out with a huge auger and dig a 5-foot hole for the corner piling to support the connecting corner of the side deck with the back deck, a cost for which we most definitely did not budget!

Then there are the indirect lights under the ceiling of the roof overhanging the porch -- now tell me, who would EVER think to budget for them? And the porch railing! Ouch.

Needless to say, there's absolutely NO WAY I could afford to go to Vegas for the Fall Sprawl.....

Linzy, I'm sorry you're not well, and I don't know anything about fibro except that it's extremely painful. You have my sympathies, Girlfriend! The only thing I can say is try to think about the marvelous times you're going to have with your new house when you leave that job. New windows sound great to me. And you have a garden! With your horticultural knowledge, you're gonna end up with a damn nice garden, oh yeah!

And think too about meeting Best Friend on Thursday and sleeping in on Friday.

As for me, I'm gonna have to go get some Zantac......

Good-nite!

Linz,

I'm a little late with this. I hope you are feeling much better today. Try to think happy thoughts. It is easy to get overwhelmed when you think about new windows, finishing the house, etc. How wonderful your house will be when it is finished and you finally move in. By then you will have a less stressful job and life will be good.
