Ok, i've done it! Downed the Fleet Phosphosoda and am now a "ticking poop bomb" so to speak. Scared to death for when it's going to start, but trying to remain calm. Thanks to everyone who offered words of encouragement and suggestions, it means the world to me! now, all I have to do is get through the next 24 hours or so. Wish me luck!

I can use all the positive vibes out there!

Kelly

Good luck Kelly. Just remember that in a bit more than a day, it'll be over and you'll have done it!

You go brew some herbal tea and warm up your heating pad. Then find a good book and settle down near the bathroom.

It's 4:30 Pacific time, so that means 7:30 your time, so you've gone through the entire day, probably spent in the bathroom, eh?

You know, I forgot to tell you a funny story. One of my fellow river rats when we lived in B.C. had to have a colonoscopy. She was our realtor, a Canadian lady with a lot of spunk, who never had a colonoscopy before. She asked me about the procedure and all, but she wasn't freaked out in the least. When it came time for the prep -- the day before the procedure -- when she was supposed to stay at home and poop all day, she was out on the road, making business calls! I tried to tell her she needed to stay by the wash room (see, I used the right terminology there), but she said, "No way; I have work to do, places to see, houses to show! If I need to poop, I'll just go wherever I can, EH!?" And that's exactly what she did! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? She amazed me. She actually came by my house the DAY OF THE PROCEDURE, right after it was done, to let me know the status of our house sale! Now THAT's a professional!

But this is about you. How are YOU doing? Just think -- the bad part is all over with. You should be nice and cleaned out by now. Are ya hungry? Okay, sorry. That wasn't very funny, was it?

Just remember, laughter's the best medicine.

I'm thinkin' 'boutcha, Girlfriend.

Hi there, Girlfriend!

How are all your bruises? You feelin' better?

To be honest with you (don't tell anyone), I haven't gone back to the Acacia. I thought my body needed a break from all that stuff. I tried taking just 1T of it the other day, and the gas and bloating returned. So I haven't been on it since. AND -- I'm real pleased to tell you that I haven't had ANY gas or ANY bloating since I gave it up. It's wonderful. I was blowing all the time and afraid to go out anywhere, because I was having unexpected and very urgent D attacks at the most inappropriate times.

Frankly, I'm afraid to go back to it. I bought some Benefiber, but hubby thinks I should just stop taking it all together. (Shhhhh.... don't tell anyone.)

I don't think I'm qualified to give anyone advice on anything, but if it were me, and I had all that gas and bloating, and urgent D, I'd cut back on whatever I thought was causing it.

Gerry, did you see my post for your daughter a little over a week ago? Here it is: web page

Smooches!

Bev

Why not try with just 1 or 2 t to start with? You should probably act as if you were just starting to take the SFS for the first time and start real slow.
