Bev, why? Are you going to switch to a different one?

Hey Bev,

I swear I did not give out your secret. Someone must have these posts "bugged" ha ha!!! I do think you need to do what will make you feel better. If you experiment and find that when you don't take the Acacia you seem to feel better, then I think you are doing the right thing. Maybe it works better for some people than for others. I don't take it or any other fiber stuff (my scaredy-cat is acting up again) as long as I am doing OK. I know what my trigger foods are and I just try to stay away from those and usually that does the trick, except when it is stress and even the Acacia couldn't help that!!!

Barbie, you don't take ANY SFS at all? Really? Wow. All along I thought we ALL have to take the stuff -- and the more the better. Pick up any flyer on IBS, and the one thing they keep repeating is "Fiber, FIBER, FIBER! "

Barbie and LS, I really don't know what I'm going to do SFS-wise. I went to the store and bought some Benefiber and thought I may give it a try. However, I gotta tell ya, it's really nice not farting all day. No kidding -- I feel like my old self without that stuff. When I take it, I have problems.

Maybe it's just me. I know I have a sensitive system -- I hear things hubby can't, I smell things he can't, and I feel things a lot more. I can't even stand labels on my T-shirts. Why should my gut be any different? I have a tablespoon of fiber, and I fart the rest of the day.

Not a pretty picture.

Bev,
You sound like me. Do you have trouble with wool as well? I hate tags on my shirts and my son does too.
I haven't been doing fiber because it makes me gassy as well. Soy seems to have that same effect. I guess my system just isn't going to get used to it. Sorry you are having troubles. IBS is such a nasty disorder.

Oh yeah. I can't go NEAR wool! Even a wool blanket. No way! And do you know, I've knit up 100% acrylic sweaters that also itch me!? So I figured, okay, I'll go for the 100% cashmere. Nope. Itches like crazy! It's 100% cotton, or nothing.

So you don't do any fiber EITHER?! Wow! Well, well. Verrrry interesting. Lots of people here don't. I'm amazed.

For some reason, I'm just afraid to NOT take it. Am I just a wuus? I know it's not the same, but I do eat a lot of whole wheat (it doesn't bother me at all). And I'm glad to say that soy agrees with me real well. I'd say it's 99% of my diet. Soy cheese, soy butter, soy milk, soy "ice cream", and I think pretty soon I'm gonna be drinking soy "coffee" as well! (More news on that to come....)

I've stopped taking my HRT. After 45 years of the stuff, I'd say it's about time. I'll be 60 in November, and I've decided my body is going to have go "au naturel" from now on. Okay, so I have severe hot flashes -- but I just step outside on the balcony 'till they blow over. No big deal. And with all the soy I'm taking in now, more than ever, that should take the place of the estrogen.

Gee it's good to have you back, Joan!

I am soooo with you on the cotton scene. Thats all I wear too. I remember my childhood days when elastic peasant shirts were so popular. I hated elastic-too tight.
Can't say I have the same soy experience but I do still eat it since there aren't many good substitutions otherwise. I ate a whole batch of tofu pudding once and man did I suffer. Good thing I could keep my office door shut. I won't do that again!
Savannah wants to know where we can find the "back of a smiley face animated picture. She loves your sense of humor!

Me, too! Wool, tags on shirts, on bras, on panties. I finally found a brand with no tags called Barely There by Hanes. Love em.
