My local fox news reported that people couldn't get through to vote...the line would pick up and say this line has been disconected. I've voted before and when the lines are closed after the 2 hours it says the lines are closed please tune in tomorrow night for the results. Something like that...the last time I voted it was for Clay!!! Gosh I think I'll start voting...for Diana! The other two don't deserve it....well Fantasia does more than Jasmin!!!

You're right. When Simon writes that book, exposing the whole production as a big fraud, I'm gonna feel like one dumb fool. I voted each and every week, actually believing my one vote counted.
DOH.
Why are we so addicted to this show? Why do we keep watching every week, only to listen to Simon belittle these very talented, gutsy young people? Meanwhile, Simon's laughing at us, all the way to the bank.......

Bev, I didn't mean you were stupid for watching it! I'm just as bad as anyone else about it. Every week (especially this week) I get so mad I say I'll never watch it again---and then I do. I don't know what it is about this show, but it is addictive! Even my parents (who are in their 70's) started watching it and can't quit. Goodness! Look how much time we're wasting on this show. It comes on 3 times this week!!!!!
You know it's bad when the phone rings during the show, and you scream at your husband, "Don't get it! Let the answering machine get it!"
One week my husband was out of town on a business trip and he called me during the show. I screamed at him---"I can't talk now. So-and-so's singing! Call me back later!" and I hung up on him. I'm surprised he's still speaking to me.

the voting is all electronic. Why wouldn't they count them? Its all on computers. I think they really do count the votes. If its all on computers its not hard for them to do so!
My thoughts are they do rig it however...they probable thought La Toya is so good...she doesn't need to win. Lets further these other girls. That way they will all make us $$$MONEY!!!! Everyone knows La Toya will make it big...she didn't need to win to be big!!!
But someone like Jasmine needs to be in the final 3!!! Does this make sense to anyone...its hard to explain....I think when the show started to get predictable they wanted to mix things up a little!!! I just don't see how La Toya is out!!!

I don't know. I don't think it's rigged.......if it was then wouldn't someone have blabbed or found out somehow? With all of those reporters on their backs, someone should have figured it out, right? But I don't know how the whole industry works, so that's just my thought.
But if it is rigged, your suggestions make sense! LaToya doesn't NEED to win to be successful! She can be famous without the show. And she most likely will be. I think what happened with Jasmine is that almost all of Hawaii voted for her for the full two hours. I know that in the first season, Nikki McGibbon (isn't that her name?) would call and vote for herself over and over so that she could come back the next week and "redeem herself." SO ya never knwo what's going on!
