Ok, so I'm so excited I can hardley type!!! I just got a positive blood test for pregnacy!!!! There is a little concern because I did spot just a little this week, although my period was due last week. I show negative on the pee tests but the blood test was POSITIVE!!! I have to go to the OBGYN tommorrow morning at 9:15am to have another blood test just to be sure everything is ok. As long as the blood tests show that the hormones are going up than we can assume everything is progressing normally. He said he would rush the test results so I will get them back tommorrow afternoon. Thats going to seem like an eternity!!!! OMG I'm pregnant!!!! It doesn't seem real!!!

Any one else every spot at the beginning of a pregnancy?? It was just a little brownish, not real bright blood or anything and just a little. The dr said that it wasn't too uncommon but it needs to be checked.

OMG! Michele!! Wow!! That's awesome! It's kind of funny, because we were talking about it at the same time. I am officially off the pill now since last Sunday, and my fiance and I are trying now.
Cool! I can't believe you're really pregnant (well, hopefully!).
If I get pregnant soon , then we will both be pregnant at the same time!

Oh, by the way, Michele...it sounds like you might have had implantation bleeding. I think this is more common than you think. Especially if it was more brown like you said. It's probably nothing at all to worry about.!

Congratulations! I knew you were. I wanted to ask but I didn't want to bug you. I wouldn't worry about the bleeding. It's quite common and some woman will bleed most of the first trimester. I say that but I still freaked out both times it happened but since you aren't far along it probable is implantation bleeeding or sometimes woman bleed when they are suppose to get their period. Make sure they find out your blood type. If your negative, you will need a Rhogam shot everytime you have bleeding and then at 28 weeks. I have to watch for that. It is mostly for precaution so you don't have a problem with your next pregnancy. BTW, I'm 16 weeks and it still doesn't feel real. The baby does seem to be moving, although I want confirmation tomorrow when when I hear the little heartbeat.

How are you feeling? Did you feel like passing out when you found out. I am shocked everytime, even when I'm almost positive I am. You might be due around my b-day. Did they give you a due date?

Well, I just did an on line due date predictor, it says 1-4-05!! Its odd, the 1st day of last period was March 30, I ovulated on the 13th or 14th (did the pee test) I did a home pregnacy test the 25, and the 30 both were negative. I did the pee test yesterday at my regular drs and it was negative. The blood test shows my HCG is 31. I read implantation usually occurs with in the first 3-10 days, so I should have implanted no later the 24th. So I don't think the spotting was implantation. I'm a little concerned that my HCG is so low. Lets hope it goes up a bunch for tommorrows test.

I feel fine! My boobs hurt, a LOT, is the only sign. I have been hungry but not really "craving" anything in particular. I haven't noticed any smells to bother me and no morning sickness, yet! Its hard to tell because I get cramps, pain and naseau from the IBS. I'm a bit concerned because I have used the heating pad on my tummy a couple of times just lately. I know not to do that when pregnant, but since all the pregnancy tests came back negative, I hope I didn't hurt anything.

I can't wait to talk with the OBGYN more tommorrow and get the HCG levels back, I'll keep you guys posted!

Michele,

Congratulations!!! Very exciting news. Let us know tomorrow how your Dr. visit goes.

I didn't have any spotting with my 3 but I have heard of lots of women who have. Talk to your Dr. about it tomorrow.

Oh my goodness, this is great news. My daughter found out yesterday that she is pregnant and she went to the dr. today. Her due date is 1-1-05, so we're due about the same time. This is too wonderful!!! Congratulations!

That's exciting! I had bleeding with both of my kids. I did have one miscarrage in between them to. So every pregnancy I have had there has been blood. I had a miscarrage almost 4 years ago. It happened on June 2nd of 2000. It was really hard! But I did get PG again...the very next month. I think I conceived on July 11th 2000. Then with that pregnancy I had bleeding at the begining and then at a bout 14 weeks. On an ultrasound it showed that there was two sacks. I could of had twins....one sack kept developing and the other I passed. That was scary. I was around 14 weeks and I was at my moms....I had a big gush and passed that one...but I was very happy that Lexi was ok!!!! I went on after that with no problems!

So try not to worry....I was for sure that I was having another miscarriage after the first one...( when I did get pg againg with Lex)I started out right away with cramps and bleeding...so I did the blood work to see if the levels were going up(also did that with the miscarrage and the numbers did go down) with Lexi I was really suprised when they called and said the numbers were up!!!

Anyways....I hope I made you feel better not worse! All in all things did work out! Good luck and please keep us posted!

Hi Michelle,

So sorry to hear your sad news. I have been there and it is not easy. My first pregnancy I had two sacs but lost one and had a healthy girl. (Spotted with this one). My second pregnancy I lost in the 13th week. (Spotted alot with this one.) My third pregnancy I took progesterone shots for the first trimester to reduce the risk of miscarriage and made it to the end with another healthy girl. Maybe when things calm down a bit and you are back on your feet have them just check your hormone levels to see if they are in line. I have always had low progesterone since I was a teenager, had to take it just to finally get my period started at age 20!!!

I wish you the best in the future. A miscarriage is hard and I really feel for you right now. My mother had three and still had 7 kids so you will be blessed with a little one soon.

Take care,

Cindy
