Birth control patch

Did any one see on the news yesterday that a young girl in the bronx died becuase of the birth control patch she was using??

i have to use the patch becuase the minute amount of lactose in the pills get me sick.

does any one else use the patch?? does it cause problems??

so far i didnt think it was bad.

I'm alittle new around here... I have been on the patch for about two years, before it got really popular, it's the only thing that keeps my flow somewhat normal that I don't have a bad reaction to. Actually, my IBS symptoms first started around the time I was seventeen years old and constantly switching from different BC shots.
I am definately going to look more into the patch now, though, I'm shocked to hear that!

how did she die? 'cause i think if you smoke, stroke and cardiac problems are a risk for the patch, just like with the pill or depo provera. i wouldn't be surprised to hear someone died like that, but not if she wasn't a smoker... if it was some other kind of freak thing!

she died a few weeks ago and studies confirmed yesterday that it was the patch that killed her. she developed a blood clot in her leg as a direct result of the patch. i dont think she was on it for very long becuase she said everywhere she put the patch, that area would hurt. that has never happend to me and i have been on it for over a year. so im hoping if anything is gunna happen it would have already affected me.
