I want to say that I love this thread, I feel like I am somewaht of a coach to the "team" of losers here, and I think that helps em stay more focused. So if you do not mind, I am going to share with you my thoughts each day, I try to begin the day on a positive not that will help me reach my goal.

Ok everyone, it is a new week! What will you do differently this week to help you lose, become more healthy. Will you control your sugar intake, drink more water, cut out that second dessert after dinner, what is it? I have heard that "If you fail to plan, then you are planning to fail." So create a plan!!!

I am so happy I am 3lbs lighter than last week at this time, I am going to stick to my strategy that I had for last Thursday and Friday. No sugar, No late night nibbling, and only one afternoon snack.

Let's go everyone!!! I would love to see and update from everyone today: Jules, Michele, Jen, Bev, Jenny.....who else is here???

Okay, my goal is REALLY trying to stick to my WW points allowance this week. And I won't be sailing this w/e so I've no excuse for eating too much!

I'm doing well so far today... it's 1545 and I've had 11 points (out of 20) and I've no food to eat until I get home.

such as it is...

no sugar, no Coke (the soda, not the illicit drug! that's still ok.) (kidding).

a 15 minute walk each day this week, if i can tolerate it.

i can't promise much else, 'cause as i've said before i have to get my energy/fibro/CFS/whatevertheheckitis problem straightened out a bit before i can really work the weight-loss plan. generally i eat ok, i need to exercise.

I didn't do too badly over the weekend.

I ordered Swiss Chalet (white meat only, baked potatoe instead of fries and a white dinner roll)...but I cheated a tiny bit cuz I had some of the chalet sauce and a piece of the chicken skin (but it was sooooo yummy)...

This week my plan is to drink more water...I know I'm not drinking enough right now...wish me luck!!

You guys have such good ideas... like a goal for the week! I'm not worried about this week... but I am about this upcoming weekend. I'm going to Pittsburgh for my sister's college graduation and I know there will be lots of bad food. I'm going to try to leave 5 extra points a day so I can use them all this weekend. That's my goal. This morning I wasn't hungry at all so I didn't eat breakfast. But that only saves me 2 points!

And yeah, I don't keep anything like M&M's in the house, even though my husband can eat anything he wants and still look anorexic. I make him keep all of that stuff at the office. I would totally binge.

Glad you like the goal idea, I am always trying to do new things and find focus, and this helps me.

Yes...I learned that the hard way when it comes to food at home. I have only been married a year and a half, and that is one thing I have learned. Do not start something unless it is healthy for the both of you, other wise you end up hurting the other person! Like having chocolate and ice cream in the house, good for him (but not really) and very bad for me. Or cooking food for him, when I know I will want it, and it is not good for me....so now he eats an IBS friendly diet....the recipes are good

I will NOT buy anymore sweet that are bad for me, even if they are "for my husband." Continue repeating ......my mantra

Well, I've lost 3 more pounds. I'm very excited. Portion control is working for me, (as long as I stick with it.) I've lost 24 pounds since I started this diet in February. I had a time there where I started to put some back on, but I'm back on track now.

I still have a long way to go. I have such a long way to go that I'll probably be the only one posting on the losers update before too long. Whew, it sure is one day at a time for me. No seconds is my weight loss motto.

Okay, coach happyday, I think I'll stick with what has worked. My plan: NO SECONDS and EAT SLOWLY!

Can anyone be one of the losers? It's a bit of a silly question but you all seem to know each other. I've been on the diet since mid March and lost 15lbs and would love to keep the pounds coming off. I'm kind of stuck at 15lbs. but just started walking 25 minutes a day after cutting out all exercise for a bit due to being tired and neurotic. I've got a long way to go and you guys seem like a great support system;)

Congrats on all the actual losers so far.

My fiance ordered the Slim in 6 series for us to start. I can't wait to start using it! Has anyone her tried it?

I do best when I count cals and stay at or under my range. That's 1300 cals/day for me. It really truly works. If I eat the right foods (i.e. foods with volume) then I'm never hungry or feel deprived. I just gotta stick with it!

Have a great night everyone!

WOW! You GO, Girl! 24 pounds! And only since FEBRUARY? Yowza! That's fabulous. I'm SOOOO envious!

How are you feeling? Has it reduced your blood pressure? I'll bet it's made a big difference, but you can't tell because of the medication, right? Gee, if you got the blood pressure down, and didn't need the medication, then you could get medical insurance. Whaddya think about seeing the doc and asking him?

Girlfriend, you are SOOOO on the right track! DANG, I'm proud of you. Makes me think maybe I can lose a little more myself......

Thanks for inspiring me, Terri!

Bev

Thanks Bev. There's hope for us! I know so many women our age who are losing weight. Most of them are in weight watchers. If they can do it, we can!

No, I don't feel too different yet, but I think I will after I lose at least another 15 lbs. or so.

As far as the blood pressure goes; you're right, I can't tell any difference because of the medication. But, I don't really expect it to be better because of weight loss, because I was thin when I was diagnosed with it in the first place. Everyone in my whole family has it and it doesn't matter what our weight is.

I'm hoping weight loss will help me to get insurance, though, because that was a negative, too. Hey, it sure isn't going to hurt, that's for sure.

Bev, you inspired me, too. (The food diary). I was able to see that my problem was eating too much. This diet is so great for health and it's saturated with the foods I love anyway, so since I must diet and change my life, I can't think of a better diet to do it with!

I love how I'm NEVER hungry. I LOVE carbs!

Hey Bev; Jill Sklar, from the Crohn's board, has a great substitue for sugar cravings. She suggested a banana and peanut butter. I tried this when I had a craving, and it worked!!! I took a banana and a very small amount of natural peanut butter and dipped the banana in it. I couldn't believe how good it is and satisfying. I don't get cravings for sweets too often nowadays, but when I do; this is what I eat. I actually find myself craving this for a snack instead of sugar!! Just a suggestion in case you're interested.

We can do this, Bev!!!
Terri

Thanks Jenny! I'm trying to be cool and calm about it, because I'm afraid I'll jinx myself or something. I keep thinking that this must be a dream. This IBS diet is great!

You know, you should be posting this in the IBS Diet Board. Everyone should read this about you -- because it's just SOOOO inspiring!

I'll try the banana and peanut butter thing -- thanks for the tip! I've never had the two together before, but I'll try anything when I'm having a sugar craving. (Although, thankfully, they're few and far between now. Frankly, I'm really not even thinking about food right now.)

I've been really busy lately with the new property, picking up debris from the contractors (boy they are MESSY!); I'm so out of shape, it's quite a workout for me! Between the hard labor and sewing my butt off (don't I wish), I'm just swamped. I'm working on a leftover denim fabric quilt top, and it's turning out really cool, I'm just so into it right now....

Again, congrats on your success!

Bev

Thanks again,
Bev
