Hey Jen, thanks for the concern. I've just been pretty busy the past few days and don't have access to a computer at work. I've had a number of really early mornings leading to long days, so I haven't been much in the posting mood once I get home.

But I still do at least try and check the boards once a day.
I like 'listening' to you guys

good, we were worried about our favorite pilot. Ya know my hubby got his pilot license a few years ago...just the little planes. I went up with him once. Made me sick!!! My son wanted him to keep doing the thing were you go up and then let down....kind of like a roller coaster...Oh I hate that!!!!

Anyways...flying got really expensive and he hasn't been up for a while. He loves it though!

Just thought I would share that with you! Glad to have heard form you!

Hi Steph,

Sorry you got sick from the flight. Don't give up, though; give it another chance. It's a lot of fun flying in a little plane like that. When my big brother was going to Stanford, he got his pilot's license and took me up with him. We flew all over the Bay area, over the Golden Gate Bridge -- it was FABULOUS! -- I kept asking him to "dip some more!" so I could get a shot of the bridge from directly above it. Ditto with Alkatraz. It was an experience I'll never forget -- even though it was with my dorky brother.

Steph,

sorry your experience in a small plane made you sick. Did you sit in the front or back? cause that makes a different (back is worse usually). The planes that I fly are pretty small as well so it can get pretty bumpy. But the 'roller coaster' effect can be pretty cool (only when there's no passengers on board of course).

The plane I used to be a co-pilot on was still small, but really fast (for a propeller plane) and we were able to fly as high as many commercial jets. When flying with another pilot you take turns flying and the pilot not flying talks on the radio to Air Traffic control. We were coming into an airport one night, I was doing the radios, just as I made my call the captain (as a joke) got us in a 90 degree bank (totally sidewards to the ground) in a weightless free fall descent. My radio call consisted of "Winnipeg radio we're ummmmmmmmmmm, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, 14 miles north of the airport descending through, uuuhhhhhhhhhh, 14,000 ft" It was fun, but I felt a little sick afterwards.

Bev,

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience in a small plane. It really is something quite fun. Even if I don't end up keeping it as a career I'm going to keep it has a hobby (although it's an expensive one)

Yay! I was starting to think I was the ONLY one who hasn't been in a small plane!

I would've been a pilot but I'm blind as a bat without me specs, so that was a non-starter!

Hi Steph!
I was trying to get caught up since I actually have a few minutes of peace. I promise to try harder to keep up with the boards. Between work, 3 active kids, and trying to keep up with meditation and yoga, there just isn't enough time for everything. Hope you are doing well and thanks for asking about me. I love this board!

Hi, Joan!! Nice to hear from you!! You're right, there just isn't enough time to do everything. That's okay. You just take care of yourself, okay?!

Thanks for the kind response. I really do intend to keep up better with the boards. I like the great information, tasty recipes, and I love hearing how everyone is doing. Have I missed anything big? Did Peaches go to Prom? China Girl how are your dogs? Bev, how is that house coming?
Please bring me up to speed on any news. Hope all of you are doing well also.

Gosh it's good to see your smiling face. You are SOOOO missed around here!

Yeah, the house is coming right along. Another 5 weeks I'd say...

We just came back from there, where we sat in the doorway with the puppy dog, looking out at all the gorgeous trees and listening to the birds singing in them. When hubby and the puppy left me in the doorway while they went for a walk, I broke down and cried and thanked God for such an incredible gift.

Okay, enough of that schmaltz.

So how are you and my favorite little gal doing? What's goin' on in your life? Too much paper work me thinks.....

Hope you'll stick around, Girlfriend. We love it when you're here!

I know moving is really stressful but it sounds like things are going really well. I'm so glad things are coming together for you. I know you miss your house on the water. Savannah was talking about that house the other day. She wanted to know if you had a backyard!
Yes things are really busy. Marshall my 2 year old runs 100 miles an hour all day long. Tayler is preparing to graduate from elementary school, my schedule for work is booked till September, and on and on and on. But I love the boards and have missed you all so I really plan to make time to check regularly.
Take care of yourself.
Joan
