Hi, i am new to this group and i was hoping someone could give me a push in the right direction...I am IBS-C (although i see saw from time to time)
I cannot find a local store or even an ONLINE store that carries soy cream cheese, soy sour cream, etc. The only soy pseudo-dairy item i can find is soy milk. Does anyone know of an online store where i can order these things?
Thank you soooo much!!! I am dying for a bagel and "cream cheese" but dairy sets me off in a terrible way and i end up in pain and very C'ed!

i just found this site... don't know if it would help? soyfoods.com

also, there are recipes for soy cream cheese if you're into making your own... here's one. i also think that Kree may have one-- check the recipe board. do a search or just post a question for kree and the other chefs!

last shot: are any of these places near you?

good luck!!!

i live on the east coast too. i couldn't find soy stuff at a few groceries stores but have you heard of farm fresh? they have a whole health section, and i went there one day just for a look. they have soy icecream, and lots of other stuff. do you have a farm fresh where you live? also, try checking out health stores near your city. good luck!

Have you tried Whole Foods yet? Here's a list of the ones in NJ: Whole Foods in NJ I think the one in Montclair is the closest to you, but I'm not sure. I go to the one in Marlton and they have soy & rice products there.

Good luck!

I will look into it- thank you! (Still jonesing for that bagel and "cream cheese" or a lil "sour cream"!) I will ask around to see if there is one or something similar nearby- i tried 2 health food stores already, but neither carries alot of "food items" like that anymore! Another one that was nearby just closed after being in business for many many years! So sad!
Thanks again!

Hello and welcome!
I don't know if this will help you or not, but there's a local health food store in my town that actually delivers within the city, so I checked out their website and it says that out-of-town delivery should be available via UPS...I just don't know if they would ship to the US or not (I'm in Canada). The problem with a lot of the soy products is that they need to be refridgerated, so you can run into problems having them shipped.
Anyways, I'll give you the link, if you're interested they have an email address and everything: www.lyndys.com
Good luck!

Well- i was about to call them and a few other places, and much to my surprise, my local health food store owner said she would order it special for me! YAY! I am picking it up tomorrow (fri) and my friend is visiting from NY on Saturday and bringing yummy NY bagels and lox- so now i can have some with my new soy cream cheese!
Is lox ok?

Yes, Lox should be just fine. Be careful of the soy cream cheese...it is still high in fat so take it easy....but ENJOY that NJ Bagel!!
