So, I just got my work assignment for school next fall. I'll be teaching a section of Intro to Theatre and Dance for Non-Majors.
This means that I will have a class of 400 students. And three TA's working under me.
I'm simultaneously excited and FREAKED out.
Of course this also means I get part of an office. And health care.

Wow, teaching 400 kids to dance sounds really hard! And yet very funny at the same time. But you can do it, especially with that help! 400 kids is more than half the size of my entire school! What college is this exactly?? Yikes!

Oh... no, no, no. I just teach them ABOUT theatre and dance. NOT how to do them. Ha ha ha... that gave me a good laugh though. How would I teach 400 people to dance?
And the school is University of Texas at Austin, the largest University in the nation with 50,000 students.

Ooooook lol The Intro to Dance thing threw me. But I don't think I'll be going to the U. of Austin. I'd be lost after half a day!

Yeah. I started very small... at Butler, which has about 3200 people. Then I went bigger... to Washington University in St. Louis, 12,000. And now, I'm finishing up here!
I think that smaller schools are way better for undergrads and larger are way better for grad students. But that's just my opinion!

What a great job! It sounds like a lot of fun. Health care too?!? I'm blown.
Girlfriend, I pay $383/month for health care. That's just for me alone, not hubby, and does not include dental. Dental would shoot it way up above the $400 figure; I just can't afford it.
You done GOOOOOD. And you WILL do GOOOOOD. Just shake off that "freaked out" stuff 'cause you'll have a lot fun, I know it!
Wow, health care .... wow ...

Thanks for the pep talk Bev. Yeah, I'm psyched about the Health Care. It means I can go to the student health center now too... which is a lot more conveniant than finding a doctor off campus and finding time to get there!

That job sounds awesome! Really awesome! I'll bet that once you start, after a few classes you won't even feel any different about the 400 students. And 3 TAs sounds good, you'll have lots of help at least. That's like.. only 100 students for each of you!.. Hmm, that's still a lot I guess.. Well, anyway, you got medical coverage and that is awesome and it sounds like an interesting subject so Yay for you! --Steph

Wow Jen that is alot of students to teach. Good Luck!!
Health care is great to have. We went a few years without it and we had kids. Thank goodness WI provides free health care for children whoes famalies qualify.
