Hey Everyone, Well, I just wanted to post and vent for a moment or too, I haven't had much time to be on the boards for the last week or so as I've had a crazy busy schedule at work And the last few days have gone really poorly, my stomach has been all out of whack, and I've had really severe cramps. I barely slept at all last night, and I just got home from work and now I've got to get up in less than five hours to be at work again and it's stressing me out! I keep telling myself that a few days of getting no sleep will be ok and I'll get through it, but then I find myself crying and freaking out and I just feel like I'm going to fall apart. It's not even just my stomach pains (although they're not helping) but also just how over-tired I am and how busy, I'm afraid that I won't be able to get through the next few days...but I really don't want to give in and end up having to come home from work. Any pick-me-up type tips? Advice? Anything? I hope everyone else's week is going well! Kelly

Hi Kelly, I just wanted to say I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. It must be really difficult to deal with the IBS tummy pains, the work stress and then feeling over tired on top of that. What a champ you are for being able to do it, I don't think I could! The only thing I could suggest are probably stuff you already know for cramps... peppermint tea and capsules and fennel tea and stuff. As for pick me ups, it's hard without caffiene, isn't it?? Maybe carbs and protein for energy? Good luck! I hope you can stick it out for the next couple of days, but if you end up needing some down time for yourself, don't feel bad! You are doing your very best, and everyone needs rest. --Steph

Rooibos tea is a great pick-me-up without caffeine. Also, make sure you keep on snacking. Sod the calories - you'll be burning more staying up so long! Keep your tummy slightly full and your blood sugar up. And drink peppermint tea!

Lack of sleep definetly don't help the stress, on top of a bad tummy! There are good suggestions here, snacking and tea. Do you have a break in work soon, like on Good Friday? If you do, you can think of things you will do that day, like sleep in, stay in bed with a good book, a long hot bath, etc....and then you have something you motivate you to get through the rest of the week.
Hope you feel better soon!
