Hiya,
This is a random question that has nothing to do with IBS... Has anyone ever used one of those epilator/hair removal things? I keep seeing ads for them on sale and have almost bought one about 5 times, but I'm afraid it just won't work. Shaving my legs gives me a rash and waxing is too expensive so I am wondering if anyone has tried onna those epilator things and how well they work?
AND I got my picture posted, so yay!

I have never used one either but have been curious. I have a terrible time with my bikini area, waxing just hurts too much and grows back too quick and forget about shaving it!

Anyone actually ever use one???

Michele and Steph! You gorgeous babes, you!

How nice to finally see who we're talking to. It makes a big difference, it's like you're real now! And HOW! Hubba hubba!

Jamie, it must be difficult being around all these gorgeous young babes, eh?

I don't know what an epilator is, but have you guys ever tried an epilatory? It a cream that you wipe on, wait a few seconds, then wipe it off -- along with the hair.

When I was 16, I wanted to shave my legs, but my mother forbid me. Clever gal that I am, I went out and bought some Nair, a great epilatory. I wiped it on, and wiped off all the leg hair. I didn't disobey my mother -- I wouldn't DARE -- I didn't use a shaver.

Thanks for the compliment! that picture was taken when we went on our recent cruise so I'm nice and tan, usually I'm pretty fair skinned!

So, was your mom pissed or what??!! I have used those creams a long time ago on my legs but never for the bikini, will it work on THAT hair??

Gee, Michele, I can't answer your question because I never tried it there. Sorry.

Was my mom pissed? Actually, no. Amazing, isn't it? She admitted she told me not to shave -- and I didn't.

Ola again,
Thanks for the compliments, Bev.
And Michele, you are beeeeautiful.
As for those creams, I have tried to use 'em a buncha times but they give me a rash too. Plus, after shaving for so long, they don't really seem to do the trick. They get some off, but not really all.
Michele, I have used it on **that area** and it does work, just be careful not to leave it for too long or it can really irritate your skin. I don't like using it, but a girlfriend of mine uses it all the time and swears by it.
Good luck!!

Michele and Steph, I agree, you girls are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the pics!

I'm not sure what that epilator thing is, but I recently bought a Bikini Touch trimmer and I'm pretty pleased with it! It doesn't remove every single bit of hair like waxing would, but I also refuse to do that. I'm so sensative that shaving killed me and Nair didn't work either, so it's nice to finally have something that doesn't irritate me at all! Here's their website:

I use one on my legs all the time. Took a bit to get used to. I hurts a bit, but if you can get over that, theyre really good. The more you use it, the less your hair grows, which makes it easier each time. Not brave enough to try the bikini line.

Mine is a Braun Silk Epil (but not sure what brands you have in the US)

Hey, that looks pretty cool! Do you still get ingrown hairs from it, I really have a big problem with that?? Is it battery operated or do you plug it in?? Thanks for the info, I'm thinking of ordering it!

Hi,
Okay, here is my next question: I figured that the epilators would hurt.. but does it hurt more than waxing? 'cause I got really good at waxing (and I waxed EVERYTHING so my threshold got pretty high) so if it hurts less than waxing, I should be okay... I know it's worth it and I would go out and get waxed right now but I literally have zero dollars. Less than that, actually, which is the really bad part. Which means electrolysis is definitely.
A couple of years ago, my mom called an electrolysis place for me 'cause I was having such a bad reaction to shaving and they said that for your legs, for 6 sessions, it would cost $10,000 (Canadian). HOLY MOLY!
I wish I could just pull every hair out myself, but I tried that last night and it took me forever to just tweeze one tiny area! OY! Stupid body hair... *mutter mutter*

i think it hurts more than waxing only cause.....waxing its one quick pull and thats its!

the epilator things..pull out one maybe 2 at a time and it's prolonged pain i think.

It's battery operated. As for the ingrown hairs, I haven't gotten any yet, but it's new so I've only used it once! I'm very susceptible to those, too, so I'll let you know once the weather gets warmer and I use it more!
