Wow, I really got clobbered yesterday. Woke up with a migraine (never done that before), felt better midday, then "IT'S BAAAAAACCKK". It came back around 6:30 and by 9:30 was so bad I was in tears and about ready to...I don't know, something drastic. I had no idea my head could actually hurt that much. Wow. Unbelievable.

So far this morning I'm okay, but I can still feel it there in the background lurking, just ready to pounce again at the least little opportunity.

So here's my question. Who else suffers from migraines, how bad are they, what are your triggers and what do you take?

Laura, this has been a recurring thing for you, hasn't it? Have you discussed it with your doc? Are you sure it's not part of your fibro?

I have morning migraines ON OCCASION. I attribute it to the foul farm smells up here and the chemicals they spray on the golf course. (I can't WAIT to move!) I really hate sucking up that stuff, and there's nothing I can do about it.

Okay, see how I turned that on me? I hate it when I do that.

Honey, I think there's more going on with you than cow farts. The severity is also an issue. Why not give your doc a call -- please?

Definitely calling him first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks. There's no WAY I'm going to live with this without trying everything and anything that will help. And it's definitely part of the fibro. And it's definitely been much worse the past three months, in fact triple the usual number.

Ah, yes the smell of cow farts! Remember it well!

Hey Laura, I used to get migraines. I went to a neurologist and he said they were remnants of a bad car accident I had been in (like, five years earlier!) He put me on a series of muscle relaxers for my neck and after taking those for a month or so I stopped getting them. I have instant dissolve medicine in case I ever get one again.

Have you been to a neurologist? If you get blurry vision with them, you're definitely supposed to see one!

I hope you feel better soon!

Sorry to hear about your migraine, LauraSue. That sucks.

I get migraines from changing barometric pressure (I'm better than a meteorologist at predicting rain -- no offense, Linzy!) and from hormones (BC pills, etc...).

I take Imitrex when they're really bad and take to my bed. I hate taking drugs, so it has to be really bad for me to resort to this.

Hope you're feeling better.

I get migraines occasionally, mostly stress related. I've had anywhere from a mild one where I lay down for a bit and I'm fine to monster ones where I can't stand any light and feel really nauseous and it takes forever to go away. I think they're hereditary in my case; both my mom and one of my brothers get them as well. I don't have any meds for them, I really trying to stay away from any meds other than my birth control shot anyway since I've had some bad med experiences the past few months. I know one of my food triggers in bananas (yeah, weird, I know). Feel better, LauraSue!

Jen,
Yeah, I take Relpax. These new triptans are amazing, aren't they. This particular migraine was from a weather change, definitely. It's wierd how that happens.

And yes, everybody, I'm FINALLY feeling better!! Thanks for your good wishes. They definitely helped!!

I have the worst migraines. I finally had to be put on a preventative: Depakote. I am going to have to go off of them pretty soon (ttc). I absolutely dread it, but my neurologist told me to take 400mg of riboflavin a day to help prevent.

When I do get them I take Migranal nasal spray. Sometimes they are so bad that it doesn't work though. Then I have to take 1/2 Vicodin. Which oddly enough they told me would be safe to take while ttc and pregnant. Isn't that strange?

I hope yours get better. I hope mine get better too. I had two last week and the last one lingered slightly into the weekend. The last time they got this bad they finally had to hospitalize me. SUCKS!!!

I get them with low pressure systems too. I also find certain foods bring them on as well. Such as corn products like corn chips or anything that has High Fructose corn syrup in it. I also get them from bannanas too.

I always call them sinus headaches though and that is what releives them is the decongestants along with the pain releivers. Just pain releivers do not do it alone.

Ok, that's 2 of you.... when it was just Melissa I thought maybe it was a flukey thing, but 2 makes a pattern!

I've been having a lot of headaches recently. Now I'm going to be MIGHTY disgusted if it's the bananas in my morning smoothie, guys.... (but thanks for the info. I had no idea...!)
