I'm so behind on all the posts from today....have'nt had a chance to check in. I had my doc appointment this morning and was real nervous, but made it through. He is concerned that the acid has been going on so long and he treated me for it almost 2 years ago and it got better and now it is back......sooooooo.....he wants me to talk with my GI doc about doing the scope down the throat. Yuk! Wasn't wanting to do that. There goes our tax refund! He is also concerned that the Protonix that he gave me samples of hasn't cut the acid totally in this amount of time (1 week) so he is going to try me on Nexium. So there ya have it.
I'll try to catch up on what I missed in here.

That's good Nugget. I bet you feel better after that! I hope that the new med will help better. I had the upper scope done. Not bad at all. It was a little spenndy...around 1,600. My ins. will be paying most of it. But I will still have to pay a few hundred 
Glad your on the board today...I've been wondering about you!!

Well, it was a good visit, then, yes? Except of course for the impending tube-down-the-throat thing. Nexium, eh? Well, as long as it works, right?
Oh, yeah, do you EVER have posts to read!  I've been on this computer all morning long -- boy is my neck ever SORE!

Don't worry about the scope down the throat thing. I had it down and don't remimber a thing! They start an IV, give you some really good drugs and good night! they wake you up when its over. I didn't even have a sore throat but I did stay home from work that day because I was groggy for a while! My insurance paid for it all so I haven't any idea how much it costs?! Glad to hear everything else went ok!

I'm proud of you, Nugget! You did it. Sorry your news wasn't that swell.... scopes stink. But you'll be ok. At least you're getting some answers.

.....and watch "Survivor" tonight. I get to watch it twice! My husband is working late tonight, so I watch it when it is on and I tape it for him and we watch it together when he gets home.
Have you ever taken Nexium. I think my doc mentioned twice a day for a week and then once a day. But I'm can't remember....so will have to call the office tomorrow and make sure. The pamphlet inside the sample says once a day. He was kind of talking fast there towards the end of my appt. And I was scared because he mentioned that scope word!
