Many civilizations believed that it's necessary to send the dead to the Spirit World or next life with the supplies they may need. We've probably all read accounts of food, jewelry, money, even pets and slaves being packed into tombs or caskets with the dead.

Thought it might be fun to ask....

What would YOU take with you for the next life????

Yep! I love MAC! What about music, I'd like to take some cd's with me. I am eclectic so that could be many different kinds of music. Music always helps get through things...the work day...or makes times memorable...some music reminds me of high school...Groove is in the heart...LOL, am I aging myself?

Yes, I haven't made my list yet, but CDs will be on it. And definitely some LipGlass!!!

Pictures of Beloved Niece, big red dog and fat gray cat.

CDs (and something on which to play them!)
- IBS hypnosis CDs (not kidding! what if, just WHAT IF there's IBS in the next life!? OY VEY!)
-BNL (of course!)
-LC (the band I work for)
-Counting Crows
-Tool
-Sarah McLachlan

-Matchbox 20 (or don't send me at all!)
-aPerfectCircle
-BeeGees (!)
-Fleetwood Mac
-DMB
-Chicago soundtrack ('cause I can SING some All That Jazz!)
-Les Miserables soundtrack (London stage version, or don't bother!)

What else...
RICE CRISPIE TREATS!
assorted knitting needles and lots and lots of cool yarn
lots of paper, pens, pencils
canvas & paints
camera and film (lots)
poetry books (maybe I'll figure 'em out while I've got all that free time!)
crossword books
The following other books: Lamb, The Great Gatsby (trite, but I love it!), Everything is Illuminated, Essential Non-Assigned Reading (all versions up 'til my death), War and Peace (I'll finally have time!), David Sedaris collection, Steve Martin collection, back-issues of The New Yorker.

I have no hubby. So we make due with the pics of the Beloved Niece, cat and dog!

BNL= Bare Naked Ladies
LC= LC, the name of the band I work for. They're a local band, so no one's ever going to have heard of them!

I think the Dee-lite song "Groove is in the Heart" came out like in 1989 or 90. Very cool and classic song. It will always be a hit. I heard the badn broke up not too long after that song became a hit and the chica's are currently D.J's (their original vocation).

MAC-I'd take all my favorite colors of their lipsticks, NC20 studio fix powder, studio fix moisturizer...

Uh oh. Now I wanna go to the MAC counter! OH NO!

I don't survive the hot Texas sun! I am very careful with sunblock. The good thing is: when I go home to southern California, my friends say "are you even aging"? The humidty here is horrible but it does wonders for the skin! How funny, I was thinking about the MAC counter too. That is a playground for my sister and I!

I am going to try your recipe tonight, Jen. Sauteed Chicken w/potatoes and pears. Can't wait, it looks delicious.

They say you can't take it with you, but.....
If I could take things with me to my next life, I would take....my husband and his love and understanding; all the memories my husband and I have made together; laughter; long, meaningful hugs and kisses; beautiful wyoming sunrises and sunsets; our peaceful mountain meadow and songs of the meadowlark, mourning dove and woodthatch; the cabin; our two golden retreivers and their unconditional love; great memories of my childhood like playing on the block in the summertime with the neighborhood kids under the streetlights til our moms called us inside; playing with Matchbox cars in our make-believe dirt town under the swingset til dark; riding bikes through mudpuddles; fun times with my parents and brother and aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins; music.....anything that sounds good; creativity; pen, colored pencils and paper; polymer clay; memories of past pets; a healthy body; my favorite jeans, shoes, and shirt; fishing; and I would take enough courage to try new things without hesitation.

I have to say what a question to ask... I believe I would want nothing to change be grateful for the things I have, the life I've been given and the love I've received. I'd would want to be in loving memories of all I've known all I've meet and all that have loved and cared for me. Yes I would say to bring with me to the next life all I have in this life, which is happiness, need some bare essentials, like a great book to read and some great music, pictures of my children and family. My favorte relaxation cloths and a great bottle of Wine and a soft cuddle blanket. I love music any kind even foreign, so a variety of music. I would want to me to be free. I would want the ability to be a great guardian angel and help those in time of need, But most of all peace.
