Surely they have to make accomodations for that, I mean really, it is a natural reaction if there is a virus in your GI tract. Weird!

Yeah, the nurses were telling me about how sometimes THEY get terrible treatment from the doctors.
I'm sure there are nice ones out there... it's just hard with insurance dictating who you get to see to find a nice one.
Anyway, my current Gastro doctor may not be nice, but she seems a lot more competant than the last guy I went to, and I'll take that.
Wow, it must be hard to work with your patients every day. It must be so sad to think about them just lying there. Do you play the radio or TV for those who can still hear?

I'm a social worker in psychiatry. I work half time as a "floater" which means I cover for the other social workers when they are gone. We have a geri psych unit with pts who often have dementia and are placement problems due to their behaviors. It is a very interesting job. I love working psychiatry and work with a lot of supportive folks. Some of the Drs can be a problem, but what's new?

By the time you have kids you will have your IBS and GERD's mostly controlled. I don't feel my kids get shafted anymore.

I'm sure Joan can give you more info. about working with Elderly people. What is intersting one of the last senses to go is your hearing. It is very important to talk to them. We get them out of bed and alot of them sit in Gerry Chairs and go the the Living Room where there is a tv, radio and activities. Most importantly the drapes are open and they get sun exposure.
I work part time - 48 in a two week paid peroid. Full time would be too hard.

I sure hope it is coming to the end of your cycle too. I have a 2 year old son, a 9 year old daughter, and a 12 year old son. I thought I was done after 2, but the pill failed me and I got pregnant unexpectedly with the now 2 year old. They are all a ton of fun and I love watching the different stages. The older kids and their friends are all really good with the little one. Don't get me started on my kids-kinda like Bev's house-I could go on and on and.....

Only time they get shafted is during PMS. PMS is getting worse with age.
