Oooooooh, how very interesting. My dad would be very unhappy to hear this, he hates Super Walmart and all that they stand for. In his own words, he would rather go hungry than shop there...lol, can you tell they are also his top competitor, Sherr?

Be a crusader all you want!! I didn't know .60 cents of our taxes supported the arts. 
I'm at the stage of my life I want to know how much of my taxes are fundinging the schools. My kids are K, 2 and 3 grade and my K is in a classroom size of 29 children. Three teachers retired at the school last year and not one was replaced. I have to wait a year and half to get into Nursing School because the College says they can't afford to pay more teachers.
I could go and on too.

Yeah, I forget the exact percentage of the taxes that go to schools, aargh. I took several classes on Consumption and Justice and Social/Political Philosophy but I can't remember/find the exact amount. Anyway, I know that there was some ridiculously low figure that it would take to educate every kid (maybe 5 bil?) but we won't/don't put forth that money.
I'm also VERY concerned about Bush's "no kid left behind" testing program. I don't think first graders should be tested every year, and I don't think teachers should have to spend a whole year teaching for a test. Blech. What do you think?
