My niece is soon to be one! I need some ideas about a gift. She is on an overload of toys (Christmas was very good to her!) and she has plenty of clothes for the next few stages. I really want to get her something special and can't really think of what to do. They live in a small town, so I can't do any kind of Mom & Me classes for them or anything...
Ideas???

Thinking back to when my daughter was 1 and what she received....her own little stroller to push her babies around in, crayola chunky crayons w/big sheets of paper, a baby that came w/a bottle so she could "feed" her baby...babies babies babies...she still loves playing with them and she's 3! Good luck and have fun shopping

What about some kind of keepsake?

I have a cup and bowl set - Bunnykins china. There's also collectible piggy banks, spoon and fork sets, picture frames. Stuff she won't necessarily use, but when she's older she'll still have.

Or books. Little ones love to be read to.

Good luck

How funny, my daughter is 13 months... wooden puzzles (like the Melissa & Doug ones) are a big hit with her right now. And she loves board books, especially ones with flaps, or different textures. Bath toys are another great idea that people don't usually think of!!

Good luck!
