How were your holidays? We got snow again on New Year's Eve day, after the blizzard had been washed away with about 2 inches of rain. I have never seen so much precip in MD. Did you go out to celebrate or stay in?

Hi Gari,
I spent Christmas afternoon with neighbors who generously invited me unexpectly for their family feast! This was the first time in years that I've had anywhere to go on Christmas for dinner. I took Heather's fiber before I left, also a peppermint capsule. I ate turkey, even some of the crispy skin that I love... shame on me! I also ate the fresh greenbeans with some crisp real bacon in them! The great mashed potatoes were obviously full of butter and milk... I ate those too along with the turkey gravy!
No one was ready for dessert immediately after the meal, so we all sat around and visited. I didn't have any symptoms other than bloating. I discretely unbuttoned my slacks and halfway unzipped them, covered well with my long sweater. I told the hostess that it was probably time for me to leave and confessed my unbuttoned, half unzipped slacks. She gathered all of the women into her kitchen and said "Okay ladies, lift your sweaters and show my neighbor that she is not alone!" I roared... EVERY woman had the same hidden under their sweaters. Laughter is one of the best cures I know!
Even so, I did go home soon afterwards as I didn't want to entertain the mixed crowd with music coming from you know where! Actually I didn't have any other symptoms from pigging out on Christmas, just the bloating and the toots... a miracle for sure. I was lucky given I ate a lot of no-nos! I was expecting to be spending a few days between my bed and my toilet, yet surprisingly that did not happen.
As for New Year's eve, I stayed home, snuggled in my bed and read for awhile. I was asleep early and didn't even hear any of the riffle shots nor firecrakers at midnight here. I woke up feeling like a well-rested and new person.
How 'bout you?

Glad to hear your's were good. I spent Christmas with family as usual. New Years was spent with a few close friends. We had a very nice dinner and I had a glass of red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon, my favorite). She had made wings, meatballs, all kinds of salads...it was so good. I don't usually go for the spicy, only because I don't like it, but those wings were delish. I ended up staying over because, I did not want to drive that late and after having that glass of wine. All in all, a very nice holiday season. My biggest blessing...I still have my mom!
