We have a wood stove and I would never go without it.
I live in SW Ontario and our hydro only goes out once or twice a year but boy does the wood stove help.

Have you thought about getting a roommate?I might help to share the costs.

I would love to help you out too.
here is my email cgmcadams@hotmail.com.
Times are tough I know.Do you not have any family that could help you out?

I hope when it comes my turn, that I have someone there to help.

Christina

Oh and I want a hottub but I doubt THATS gonna happen.

Usually no more than two days, yet that is enough to cause physical problems of hypothermia. The utility company works as fast as they can in this rural area.

First, I don't have a spare bedroom to rent out. Secondly, when I need the one bathroom in my home, I need it NOW. I really don't want to deal with unpaid rent and fair share of utilities anyway, nor would I want to smell someone else's cooking of things that gag me and having to deal with their friends coming in an out of my home. I know too many women who have had miserable and major problems with renting out a room in their homes. No thanks!

Best I live alone and deal with my own problems on a day to day basis. Some day the Lord will take me home to a better place.

My pastor doesn't even understand. He suggests that I put on Depends every Sunday morning and get myself to church. Yea right!... like I want to sit for an hour or more in a puddle of diarrhea and smell like an outhouse. I don't think so!

I'd far rather stay home and drink chicken broth (yum!) with fresh ginger in it and listen to a Sunday sermon on my radio.

My three grown children live far away from me, and they don't understand that I can no longer dance to their tune nor cater to THEM at this time in my life. They have completely written me off and have no contact. Their life is about living in the fast lane with all of today's bells and whistles and latest technology, have high incomes to support their lifestyle. They have no idea what it is like to simply crave a simple bowl of chicken soup... they eat in high end restaurants all the time.

My purpose in life is that of an encourager and I work daily with an international prayer team that supports one another in all things through prayer.

God is good!

I would also like to add here that firewood (oak) that doesn't cause potential for chimney fires, burns hot, etc. costs about $400 a cord, that being about enough for 4-6 weeks only. One might as well forget burning wood in California, given wood harvesters also charge a delivery fee, and one has to pay a second person to take it up 13 deck stairs and stack it here to make it accessable to a senior woman living alone. Such is not at all economical for heat these days in California.

If you happen to life where you can get FREE firewood, have the strength and stamina to do whatever is needed to make it work for you, consider yourself very blessed.

Jennifer... Strange! I sent it when you requested the info along with a brief note. I'll see if I still have that in my email Sent folder, and forward this to you. If I no longer have it, I'll do it over.

You might want to take a look in your spam folder or keep an eye on such today, as it may look like spam to filters. In fact, I think I'll simply put "Friday morning..." in the subject line.

Thank you.

NOW I see what I did! I spelled the 'gurl' part 'girl'... I guess that's what happens when one is spending too much time in the bathroom and not paying enough attention on the computer.

Enjoy your weekend, take care and be blessed!
