I'm surprised I haven't come across this word before, but I'll try to commit it to memory:
te·nes·mus (te-nez'-mes) n. A painfully urgent but ineffectual attempt to urinate or defecate.

Going back to the GI in June, I hope he can do something for me. I just spent 30 minutes in the bathroom crying cause my stomach hurts so badly. Supervisor came looking for me I want to go home, only one hour left! But hey, it's five o'clock somewhere, right?

Oh, Kappy - I'm so sorry - many of us would say "I know your pain"!!! I don't have any new answers, but have been there, done that. This may sound crazy, but for years my IBS was strictly "D", but over the past few years is mainly "C"...It had gotten so bad, hems, bleeding, etc. and it seemed all I did was worry about going to the bathroom - even prayed for a BM But, I've got some back issues and have been going to a chriopractor 3 x a week and I promise, this is the only thing different I've done - and for 2 weeks now I have had a BM w/ no effort every day but, one! Go figure!!! I'm sure the stress of your pending wedding - no matter how happy or exciting (any emotion can trigger mine - is adding to your situation. Can you believe a dr. used to tell me - you just need to learn to relax! Sure!!! {{Hugs & Prayers}} - Dorothy

Thank you both for your kind words! I do need to relax. I'm so worried about when my stomach is going to act up that I worry my stomach until it does act up!!
I have missed alot of work lately, leaving early and staying home, but I am going to miss a week and a half for the wedding, so I don't want to go home. On top of the bowels, I've had pink eye twice in the last couple of months, and I had to stay home on FRIDAYS!! That is the worse, calling in on a Friday morning. That looks very bad, like I'm just trying to get an early weekend. No one else misses as much work as I do. The other day I was stressed because my boss came down on me about some stuff, and I told another lady I was working as hard as possible, but she said (and she was looking from both sides) that if I hadn't missed so much work, they wouldn't be so hard on me. She said that she had only missed one day this year so far, because she had the flu! Poo on her.
They just don't understand what kind of pain we are going through. It kills me when someone says, "oh just go take some gas-x" or something like that. It's just not that easy! It's so frustrating.
I too go home early sometimes. I work at a bank, and we close our doors at four, but we work until five. If I am done with my work after four, and I'm not feeling well, my supervisor usually lets me go like 30 minutes early. Whip-dee-doo. What a break. Like that will help when I have been suffering all day long.
Ok, through venting. Sorry, that was an ear full!

No thank you, I would not like a DOUGHNUT and some DOMINO'S PIZZA. I'm just on a DIET. Chicken Rotel??? MMM sounds good, sorry, still not on the diet plan.
Everything these people make for breakfast or lunch is nothing but fatty cheese. And they complain about being fat!!! But they always want to cook for something.
What did we have at my wedding shower??? Pulled PORK, baked BEANS, potato SALAD, CHOCOLATE CAKE. Poo. I couldn't eat a durn bit of it!! They all know I can't eat this stuff, but did not respect my concerns.

It made me smile too!!!
I have my own office, but it's in a building with a bunch of offices with other employees of the same facility. Kind of sucks, but I keep to myself and try not to get in the middle of ANYTHING!!!! I am working on starting my own pottery barn, but it just hasn't gotten off its feet yet. I'm waiting on my fiance (soon to be husband ) to get out of school before we actually start the business.
But until then...... My bathroom is only ten feet from my office, so it's not too bad. There are only about 5 of us that use this restroom upstairs, so I don't feel bad when I have to 'go'. We have some spray that says for "smoke, garbage, and 'other malodors'" I guess I'm considered one of the 'malodors' lol
I'm glad I could make you giggle! Maybe I need to come work for you, you seem like a pretty cool boss!

BF was fired today. He didn't finish a project last night. I wasn't supposed to let him go to sleep. We both nodded off. The project wasn't finished, so he got fired at 8:30am this morning.
We're both out of work now. I'm stunned. We have no savings and I can't believe I'm contemplating moving back in with my mother. BF is talking about going to Afghanistan to do IT work. It's all a mess.
Physically I'm ok. Don't know how/when this latest round of events is going to hit me. I wish I had something funny to post but I'm facing eviction within 2 months and more tears when BF comes home. Arg. Sucks.

LM, I REALLY appreciate your post.
*2 fist pounding my heart, gangsta style* You really got me right here.
I can really appreciate any good vibes, everyone. I'm not religious, but am seriously comsidering trying anything. BF came home and he's so relaxed I'm considering a suicide watch. His boss was an ass, but the hours he worked and the migraines he suffered for the last 6 years were not worth the treatment he got today. *sad*

I don't know what to say. The job markets are so tough right now. I hope you've been able to call off the suicide watch. I hope you and the BF are managing alright and dream jobs are just around the corner.
May your luck turn around and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow find you soon. God never closes a door without opening a window.

Hey Michele! Thank you!
I haven't seen you here in a while! How are things? I liked the pictures of the house remodel. I made my BF watch commercials for Lyrica, and now he believes there really is a thing called Fibromyalgia. Baby steps.
Oh, I also made him watch the commercial with the football player who has Crohn's Disease, and every time the guy said "I had a flare-up" I yelled "That's CODE for diarrhea!!" I'm not sure he believed me, but I asked him what he thought was a flare-up, and he couldn't answer. Ooo, he drives me nuts!

THANK YOU. I can't tell what's going on in his mind, but I know he hasn't slept in two nights. He refuses to send me his resume so I can update it. I think he's in deep denial... and it's not helping MY stress!
There's a job fair for people with security clearances and he refuses to attend it this weekend. I could just choke him.
I keep applying online, and he hasn't hooked up my printer (still) so I can't print out my resume. I think he's sabotaging me the way he did when I was working. I don't think deep down that he wants me to succeed. I've lost jobs before because of him, and I see this pattern coming back.
Well, I fixed up my hair (made it one color, LOL!) and I've found my interview suit, which fit a lot better 20 pounds ago, but I can still pull off if I stand at an angle... Arg.
So here we go!

Hey Nelly,
I'm falling asleep here, but just checked in on the boards and saw your posts. This sucks! I hope you two can find some way to be understanding with each other in the middle of all that stress and emotion. Not easy to do at all. Hang in there and good luck with everything.
ps. flare up = diarrea! Your post made me laugh out loud! He didn't know what it meant? What else could it be - that not so fresh feeling? Its either too much poop coming out, or not coming out or else cramps usually combined with one of the former - thats sort of the whole range of possibility. I certainly hope he is going to face the reality of your experience and soon.

BF's Evil boss didn't call him for days, then they talked like he's never had the conversation. BF's job is safe for now...
We found out through back channels that they offered it to BF's assistant, who said NO WAY, so I think hte boss has come to his senses... for now.
I told him to cruise craigslist to make sure his job wasn't posted there. I'm also trying to get him to do uo his resume, but he refuses my help. Don't know what he's thinking. If it happened once, it'll happen again!!
I worked for the same complany but I was BF's boss and he hated that, so he sabotaged me and after the one contract I didn't come back to try for another. But the head boss is CRAZY and might be on drugs. That wuld account for all the profits disappearing even though BF lands these huge contracts... Follow the money, I say.
OK, enough rambling. It's 2:03am here. Better try to go to rest!

Phew!! At least he's employed for now, which must ease your minds.
Maybe he should keep checking out the Craiglist though. If his boss likes to fire folks spontaneously, I'd be on the lookout for something new.
All the best to both of you!!
