I have an upcoming holiday which calls for eggs for special recipes. does anyone know if the recipe calls for 2 eggs how many egg whites can i substitute for the recipe to come out ok? thanks for your help, still trying to learn to bake correctly.

Alot of people just use egg beaters whites only and it will tell you the amount to use but I also found this on internet. I know some things do not do well with just egg whites. I would think possibly if it is a cake and it doesn't call for alot of eggs that the amount of egg you are getting would be very minimal but again that is something you have to decide yourself if you think you would be able to handle the eggs or not. Also post this question on the recipe board and you probably will get more informative responses than mine LOL

Sometimes you can simply substitute two egg whites for each whole egg, but only experimenting with your favorite recipes will tell which of them can be adapted this way: Eggs do perform very specific functions, especially in baking and sauce-making, and sometimes there is just no workable substitute or modification.
