Another clue as to what this is...

Went to the gastroenterologist the other day to tell him of all this most recent abdominal pain/bloating etc. I've been having. Again, I confided in him my fears of cancer, but he said since the CT scans have been clear and I seem robust and have good energy, he REALLY doubts this is any kind of cancer. (Monday I'm scheduled for my first colonoscopy, which will tell us more...or, in any case, hopefully rule out more...) He prescribed an anti-spasmodic pill, Hyomax. I didn't take it till last night - I woke up around 4 a.m. and found my stomach bloating up and crampy, the usual. Got up, walked around, petted my kitty, and tried to go back to sleep -- no dice. Got up again, sighed, and decided to try the Hyomax (normally I hate any kind of meds and I was seriously considering not taking this!). Well, within half an hour the bloat was way down and the cramps were pretty much gone. My mouth became slowly dry as a bone between then and when my alarm went off at 7, but that was a small price to pay. So -- another clue that this may indeed be IBS?? I don't want IBS, but I am still really very scared that this could be stomach, intestinal or colon cancer, so at this point if the answer is IBS I will take it and deal with it. It's not a happy thing, but at least it won't kill me, right?

Nobody in their right mind would want IBS. I certainly don't but you find a way to deal with it. It's good the anti-spasmodic helped and certainly it points towards IBS..
