So I'm a light sleeper and I live with 3 other ppl and 3 animals. My sister's puppy cries and barks all the time and wakes me up. I was alo not getting sleep when my mom was walking in the kitchen or talking to anyone. I also felt as if my trapped gas contributed to me not being able to fall asleep a few afters after being woken up..SOmetimes I get really tired like I'm going to fall asleep but my body won't let me and sometimes I feel really tired but am a little afraid to fall asleep cuz everytime I'm a second away from falling asleep I get snapped out of it cuz noise and such wakes me up.

I have trouble sleeping too. Sometimes I fall asleep for 20 mins and something wakes me up and I am awake for hours. Or, sometimes I sleep for a couple of hours and wake up. Alot of my sleep problems come from anxiety. Whey I wake up or if I can't fall asleep my mind is racing and I am so tired but can't shut my mind off.

I just started taking Trazadone about a month ago and for the most part it does help. I still have nights where I wake up or can't fall asleep. For Christmas I got an alarm clock that has soothing sounds you can play all night. There are 6 of them, rain, thunder, waves, rainforest, spring sounds, and waterfall. I didn't think this would work but it does help to put me to sleep and if I wake up so far it has helped me fall back to sleep quickly.

Can you sleep with earplugs? They aren't expensive and will block out the noise. You could also try to find a tape of soothing sounds and let that play all night.

I do understand what you are going through and it is very frustrating.

I occasionally can't get my mind to turn off so that I can fall asleep. Especially worrying about how tomorrow is going to go with my IBS. My doctor said that I could take Benadryl (over the counter allergy medicine) to help me fall asleep. You may want to talk to your doctor about taking something.
