Any luck with loosing weight? Help! My jeans are tight!

Is there anyone out there that has had any luck with loosing weight and being C? I am getting depressed at trying so hard and still not going down on the scales. I have been following Heather's diet but I think I eat too many carbs. Of course carbs soothe emotions and my inside but the unwanted pounds are a real problem. for the past two weeks I have been so C. After a while with so many days of not going it makes for a real miserable woman! And then add on top of that the bathing suit that doesn't fit along with last summers clothes. I refuse to buy something bigger, I am determined to get to the bottom of this but can't seem to find what my triggers are. Is there anyone out there that stripped their diet down to the bare minimum and added one thing in at a time just to see what was best to eat and allowed their system to normalize? I thought I might try this but I don't know if I have enough energy to do it. I get so tired through out the day. If there is anyone else out there trying to fight the tight jeans and bloating stomach please let me know how you are making things work to loose weight. I feel discouraged and desperate!

Boy, do I feel your pain, LindaJane!!

I have been battling the bulge since my last child was born. That was 18 months ago, and I can't keep using the "I just had a baby" excuse. For me, the one thing that puts weight on me faster than anything else is SUGAR! It's also the one thing I CRAVE. When I go longer than a few days without it, it's ALL I THINK ABOUT!!

I have tried to give it up several times, but I just can't do it. It's wierd...like a drug or something. Anyway, I gave it up once before for two weeks and I lost 5 pounds. Then I started eating it again. It is frustrating. Why couldn't it be something easy to give up that makes me chubby, like carrots.

Also, a lot of my IBS symtpoms seemed to improve too. Like the bloating and gas, and constipation. Sugar is known to slow your peristalsis. Supposedly it's like valium to your intestines. Maybe you should try giving it up and see what happens...HEY - maybe we could do it together. I think I might be able to do it if I had someone doing it with me!! That way, we could suffer together

Anyone else wanna join?!

Count me in - I'm having the same problems with bloating and weight gain, all around my middle. I had cut most of the sugar out of my diet, and just like you said Fancymom, I began craving it like it was my job! I ate a huge box of Dots in about 2 days! Dots! They're not even that good!!!

How do we get started??

Just wondering.....isn't craving sugar a sign of overactive yeast growth?

You may be right, dragonfly. I have always wondered if I have a candida infection in my gut. I really think that may be a lot of my problem with gas, bloating and most all my IBS pain and misery!!

I think we should just go for it! We can support each other every day. It will be good!
