Hello.

I'm new. this place was recommended by someone on a board I run. I had no idea how NOT alone I was.

My name is Nessa I'm 48 I live in Maryland. I THINK I have IBS. My GASTRO thinks I have IBS.

I am not sure how to describe what type of IBS I have but my CAT scan a few weeks back showed "an area of constipation" in the right part of my intestines (and an ovarian cyst on the left side. the funny thing was I was seeing him because of the diarreah I was having at the time although I tend MORE towards constipation I have a colonoscopy (my first) scheduled for the 27th.

don't want to post to many questions till I am sure i'm in the right place.

hope this wasn't TMI (is there such a thing on an IBS board???)

Welcome Nessa...and YES! THIS IS THE IBS BOARD!!
Sounds like you have IBS too. BUMMER.
I have struggled for many years with it. I am also IBS with constipation predominant. Have you bought Heather's book yet? It may help you, if you indeed have IBS.
I hope your Doctor finds out what is going on with your tummy (and your ovary). Maybe you will get lucky and NOT have IBS.
