I have big decisson to make and don't know what to do. I have put off taking lexapro for about 2 months now.I have took it before it has helped my ibs. As some of you know I had a misscarriage about 6 months ago. There are days when I am ready and I want one now, then there are days I am not. But If we start trying I know I need to get off all of this stuff and whats the point in taking it if I am going to get off of it in 3 months, and it scares me that my ibs may get worse if I do go off the bc. I also worried about the lexapro making my c worse as well.I am on bc and it does help with my ibs a little I am trying to add new food and if into I am working on broc, blue berrys and apples. I still have my days with gas gas and more gas. I do have prolbems with taking vitimins they make my c worse. So I am at a lost on what to do. Maybe I just needed to vent. thanks for listening.

Hi.
I am very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I completely understand, as I have had 2. But...do not fear!
You CAN and WILL get past this chapter in your life.
I now have 2 beautiful children, and I know that everything happens for a reason. God did not mean for those 2 children to be mine. Just as he gave me the 2 precious ones I have now for a reason.
You really have to be your own detective when it comes to your health. I cannot stress this point enough.
Changing your diet is CRITICAL to your chances of having a successful pregnancy. Also, check into progesterone supplements during the first 10 weeks of your pregnancy as well. That saved both of my pregnancies.
Find a GOOD multivitamin, and I DON'T mean Centrum. Go to your local health food store (here we have Wholefoods).
You can find this vitamin online - it's the one I take and I have the most sensitive stomach in the world, and it has never bothered me, you can even take it on an empty stomach...it's called Women's One Daily by Megafood. It is made from 100% FOOD. No chemicals, preservatives or anything else unnatural. This is vital for your health NOW, because you have to beef up on your vitamins - especially folic acid LONG before you find out your pregnant.
I also recommend giving up sugar while your trying. Sugar really messes with your hormones. Apples are FULL of fructose, and may really upset your system...be careful.
Sorry for the bossy e-mail, but I guess the Nurse in me is coming out. Besides, I really want to see you pregnant and happy
I know how hard it is to go through a miscarriage, and unless you have been through it, you can never competely understand!
Good Luck to you girlfriend!!

So sorry you are having...and have had....such a rough time. I can't speak from experience on children because I have never had any and can't have any. All I can say is follow your heart and trust your instinct. If it's meant to be...it's meant to be for a reason. {{{hugs}}}

Hi Fancymom
Thank you for your post. Me and my husband found it very intersing and it gave me a little hope for the first time in months. I just want to stop hurting. Only time will heal that I guess.

I have a few questions if you don't mine the Women's One Daily by Megafood vitianm could you tell me more about it. I am also taking calcuim with maganesium would that be ok to? It seems to help my ibs as well the c part the most.
Thank you so much for the tip on the apples I will watch them. When you say changing my diet so I can be healthy what do I need to do. Theres not much fruit I can do I can do peaches, strawberrys, blueberries and nectarines. Bananas make my c worse and I stay away from citrus cause of the acid. I can't do applesauce either is that cause of the fructose? Could you tell me what foods you can tolerate since you have fructose? As far as "if" I am working on that I can have strawberries, green beans, tomatoes, some romain lettuce on a sandwitch a some very little broc for now. Thanks for the tip on sugar it explains some stuff as well.
I am going to look into those vitimans. I just still haven't decided what to yet about the lexapro... thanks again for taking the time to help me.. xxx (hugs)

That is a big decision and the best advice I can give is to go with your gut instinct (no pun intended of course). When I was trying to decide if I was ready for a child I was told by many that you will always have fears & worries but you have to put them aside. On the flip side, when I first started seeing a specialist for infertility the first thing she told me was to get my IBS in check b/c it can upset your entire body (as we all know!). But, I feel like I have my IBS in check and we're working on 16 months of TTC with no luck.

This post probably hasn't helped b/c it's two sides of the coin but either way I wish you the best of luck!

Hey emmasmom!!
I hope you are doing well!! About the vitamin. You can either check with your local health food store (not GNC), or you can Google it online under "One Daily for Women by Megafood." Megafood is the brand. I completely agree with the Calcium and Magnesium. I take it every night right before bed. It settles my stomach, and helps me sleep! I take the "CalMag by Megafood." It is AWESOME!! I highly recommend it for ALL women, but especially those with IBS.
The sugar in your diet is probably messing with your hormones. I would try to give up sugar all together...BUT I am also a realist and I KNOW how hard that is to do, so maybe just start with fructose. That one is a biggie all on it's own. You can also Google the fruits that are high in fructose that you should avoid. The ones that I KNOW of first hand are: Apples, Honey, Maple Syrup, Sweet Potatoes, Onions, All Fruit Juice, Pears, and Coconut.
When you start researching and reading labels and realize how many pre-packaged foods have HFCS(high fructose corn syrup) in them you will be SHOCKED! I know I was. I remember standing in the bread isle for 35minutes looking at every loaf of bread. I only found 2 loaves of bread out of the almost 50 different kinds that did not have HFCS. Only 2. I almost fell over. It is rediculous how very unhealthy our country has become. Nobody seems to care that they way they are making our foods these days is making everyone sick, infertile, full of cancer, and having heart attacks and strokes. I guess they figure that keeps the doctors and hospitals in business, so oh well. Ok, I have to stop now, cuz I could go on for HOURS!
You are going to have to become an avid label reader! I read labels for EVERYTHING!! At first, until you get used to what you can eat, grocery store trips will be long...very long. My first trip to the grocery store after I gave up fructose was 2 hours.
Also, if your like me and have IBS-C, which I think you do, you may have to give up dairy too. That one is pretty hard as well. I drink Almond Milk. LOVE IT! I buy the unsweetened, vanilla flavored almond milk. It is GREAT in recipes and on cereal. I use stevia to sweeten it if I need to - you can find stevia at your health food store. It is great too. VERY little aftertaste...and it is actually a sweet South African herb, so no cancer! YAY!
Anyway, just try to relax - I KNOW first hand that is easier said than done. I am VERY Type A, so it is nearly impossible for me to relax. But, I try to take a little 30 minute nap every day - that is supposed to lower your cortisol levels, which is your stress hormone. Plays a big part in fertility. Or meditate for 20-30 minutes every day. I stretch before bed. That will help you relax and sleep better along with your CalMag.
Anyway, I really do hope that things improve for you! I know they will. I have faith, and you should too. You WILL have children one day...probably very soon.
So, go out this weekend with your husband and have a great time...and don't talk about any problems or worries. Focus on why you fell in Love in the first place. Talk about things that make you smile and laugh. Then go home, make him give you a back rub and do whatever comes naturally...then in two weeks you will be posting here that your gonna be a new Mommy!! HA!! Don't we all wish it were that easy!!
Ok. Start with the dinner out and that will be a grat start in itself!
Good Luck, Girlfriend!
