Hi everyone, I have had IBS for many years, possibly as early as 5year old. I recently had a severe attack. Had a CT done and now know that I have diverticulitis as well. When the surgeon did the colonoscopy he had much trouble advancing the scope due to severe spasms. The question I have is; does back pain go along with this? I get it so bad I can't bend over. Sometimes the pain radiates down my right leg as well, in the groin area. Not quite like sciatica. I appreciated any info you can pass my way, in the meantime I will keep reading the posts. thanks so much Julie

I have lower back pain when I have a flareup too. Never down leg though.
