I can sure relate to the "stop thinking about it so much comment". I've heard that a few times from people...including my husband.

HE told me I should take dulcolax every day for severe constipiation. I was sick for months and the doc kept dismissing me. No tests except for a sigmoidoscopy. Turned out I had an abdominal/pelvic abscess that finally ruptured. You cannot imagine the pain. I don't know how I made it home. I just flopped into bed. I was so delirious with pain I couldn't even think that I should go to the hospital. Two days later my husband took me to Kaiser. That doc told me it was either food poisoning or flu. No tests, nothing. My husband took me home where I rotted in bed a few more days. Then finally we went to emergency. My white count was 27,000. They finally took me seriously and admitted me. .After a couple days of testing me and triple antibiotics that did no good, they decided I had some kind of mass and needed a hysterectomy. Turned out when they opened me up my sigmoid colon was all black and necrotic (like dead). So they took out just about every organ in there. Ovaries, uterus, cervix, 12 inches of colon, appendix. Gave me a colostomy, but 4 months later they were able to reconnect my colon and close the colostomy. I won't even tell you all that happened during my hospitalization. It was almost like they were deliberately trying to kill me. It was the worst thing that every happened to me.
