Hi!
I haven't been on this site for a while because I've been doing really well with tummy issues. However, I switched BC from Ortho-Tri to Tri-Sprintec (a generic form of Ortho) and I just started taking Tri-Sprintec mid last month. And I've been having bathroom trouble ever since I started it! It seems kind of coincidental that I am having more trouble "going" on a new pill than any time before. And since my great gyno is also a GI specialist (how cool is that?!) he says tummy was good, bowels, good. But why am I constipated? (actually, it's more like having to strain more...I DO go to the bathroom almost every day, but it's harder to go...and I sometimes feel like I still have to go a little after I actually go!) Can anyone relate to this? Please give me some advice or thought on this if you can. I think I am going to give the new pill another month, and if nothing improves, I am talking to the doc and switching pills. Thanks for any answer!!!
P.S. If "Jordy" reads this, I am sorry I have not responded to your last email you sent me some time ago. I have been super busy with life and work and will try to get back to you soon.

I recently changed my BC pills too, and experienced full on IBS symptoms for about 3 weeks before they subsided. As I understand it, hormones can affect this. I spoke to my gyno and she urged me to try and stay with the new pills for at least a month or two to let my body adjust.

THanks for the reply! I really appreciate it. I could NOT figure out what was going on with my bowels since I started taking this pill. And it didn't make any sense that after being regular I suddenly become clogged up. Makes sense with hormones. Thanks!
