I can't believe none of my doctors ever said anything about how well peppermint is for cramping and bloating. I was telling my sister about it the other day and she said when her daughter has her period, she chews peppermint gum and it relieves the cramping she has. I have gone over a month without any major cramping. I have had a few bouts of diarhea, but the associated cramping was nowhere near as severe as it used to be.

Thank you for this site it has been a godsend. I am thinking of using the acacia, but I prefer capsules as it is easier to take at work. Right now I take psyllium husks and that helps control the diarhea.

Talk later,

Isn't it the greatest? Once I realized how good it was, I never used my prescription (Bentyl) again... peppermint just works so much better. I usually take it as tea - the warmth makes it doubly soothing.

I'm not surprised your doctor didn't say anything about peppermint, though. It's a rare doctor I've come across who knows *anything* about herbal remedies, diet, or anything else that doesn't fall under the heading of conventional medicine.

Sometimes I wonder, do they really not know? Or do they just not tell us because it will work and they want us to keep coming back? Hmmm...

That's why I am going to a naturopath in May! I have HAD it with conventional docs! I am whole person, not parts! I'd love it if they would recognize that!
