Does buscopan help to stop the attack - once my attack starts it takes days, weeks to calm down - if something like buscopan can stop it from carrying on then I need to try it. Any expereineces please share. Debbie IBS-C

Buscopan is an antispasmodic. It helps to stop the spasms which causes you pain and it has been prescribed for IBS sufferers.

Does the buscopan affect the bowel motility as in it makes you more constipated or does it just takes away the spasms so that the natural movement can then happen? Thank you - i am lookin g for something t otake when I get an attack and need to function - my attack can take days days days days days weeks to calm down. debbie IBS-C

I am not sure if I can answer your qustion or not. I seem to remember the GI Specialist telling me that they could make me C if I took too many, my dose is 3 max per day as needed. That being said I only take 1 pill when I am havin an attack an it does not make me C. It is hard for me to answer as an IBS'A-er cause sometimes I get C no matter what and vice versa. I hope haven't confused you too much
