Hey all
First off, thanks to everyone who keeps getting in touch to check up on me - it's really appreciated, and means a lot. (Cassandra - I'll mail you back later today, thanks for dropping me a line! ) I'm always in here, lurking and keeping up to date with everyone
Right, back on topic...
As you know I've been having, by my previous standards, a great time - back at work, enjoying it, minimal IBS disruption (still there, just better at managing it) and things looking up.
So I guess I got a little complacent, and I've been kind of "taking the mickey" for a little while - really pushing it with food, and boy did I pay for it last night.
It started around 11pm, with pre-poop pains, nothing out of the ordinary, a bit of cramping and a LOT of gas... 7hrs later I was still up, had been having super-violent D all night til I was empty, and (sorry if TMI) I seemed to be passing bile - browny-yellowy-green type stuff, that serious, burned like HELL!
I also felt sick all night, and threw up a couple of times - really abnormal for me, as I have a phobia of being sick and normally manage to suppress it. Today anything I try eating, even just a couple of bites, comes straight through, even drinks that I normally tolerate well cause increased nausea and cramps.
So I've had to take the day of work, have done nothing but one load of washing as I'm SO lethargic and still feel v nauseous and have a, um, not sure of the politically-correct term to use here, but a painful burning 'bumhole'. I feel starving, but as soon as I eat I regret it, and I absolutely have to be at work tomorrow, so I guess it'll be super-Imodium time (normally I just take 2 or 3 to go to work, up to 6 on a bad day and 8 for a big trip or similar) to get there.
But... that doesn't solve the feeling sick, and feeling like I'm completely back to square one. (Not looking for sympathy - I haven't had any acacia for 4 months, and over the last few weeks have eaten chocolate, cheese, cheesecake, 2 sausages and some bacon and a little ice-cream - all completely off limits for me really!) You guys who are now stable - have you been here before?
But where do I start now? I have no energy, so need some super-easy pointers on how to get back on track - ultra-plain & reliable foods and ways to sneak acacia back into my intake (I can't stand any of the herbal teas, and seriously I've tried) and don't have the energy to bake right now.

Well, it's nice to see you, though I'm sorry the circumstances aren't better!
I had exactly what you described last week, and it turned out to be virus. There's something going around stateside. Frankly, my IBS never involves nausea and lethargy.
Now, either way, you will need to get back on the IBS diet, but don't assume that this is a terrible IBS attack, because I honestly think it could be something more.
Feel better soon! I found the only thing I could tolerate for about 48 hours was flat sprite.

OMG! Sounds like you have the stomache flu - not just bad attacks, especially if you're sick to your stomache.
I hope you'll start feeling better soon! Some flat pop might help settle your tum. I know, I had the flu in December and couldn't stomache anything except a sip of ginger ale every few hours.
Glad to see you, but sorry you're having a rough day! Get Jamie to pick up some anti-nauseant for you too to control that. It helps, most of the time.

You may want to be a little more careful with your diet regarding IBS, but this sounds much more like a virus than an attack. I hope you start feeling better soon. And unless the world will fall off its axis unless you go to work tomorrow, you might need to take the day off and work on getting better.

Hey Blondie, nice to hear from you but sorry to hear about the tummy! I absolutely HATE that burned bum feeling, ouchy!!! I use desitin baby diaper rash cream on it when its raw like that.
Try to stick to rice, toast, plain bagels, crackers, tea, that sorta thing for the next few days and really load up on the Imodium to give your sore bum a rest!!
I too, sometimes eat things that I know I am going to regret but, we are human! Hope your doing better, lots of love and hugs!

I make a single portion of the heart healthy pancakes with my dose of acacia added... using rice milk and egg white... and since I can handle them some dairy free chocolate chips in them if I'm taking them to work so I don't have to worry about the maple syrup here...
