I'm new here and absolutely adore this site. I've found more information here in the past few days than any other site and doctor. Thank you Heather! I have been eating more SF for the past 2 days along with chamomile tea and am starting to feel a little better. I've had this "episode" since Thanksgiving and I am starting to feel very drained. My head hurts and I am sooooo very tired. I had an episode 2 years ago and was sent for a colonoscopy which turned out okay but geez - this time was brutal. I am so thankful for stumbling across this site. thank you thank you thank you (I can't wait to try the peppermint caps)

Thanks - I'm learning soooo much. I had to call out from work today and seeing dr again. I've had D for like 6 weeks. I don't want to take the Levbid because of all the side effects so we'll see what he says. anyway - hope everyone has a good day.

There are several things I did to get my D under control (along with all the other symptoms).
-Heather's diet 100%, no cheating -Hypnotherapy (I can't speak highly enough of this) -Heather's Acacia Fiber (if you haven't tried this yet, I strongly recommend it) -Lots of water -Adequate rest -L-Glutamine http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=CF-1005 -Regular Exercise (this is usually just running around with the kiddos I take care of)

Glad you found us, though of course not so glad you have IBS!
It's really tough at first, but hang in there. Three years ago I was so sick that all I ate was crackers, I had D all the time, and my doctor wanted to hospitalize me because I couldn't eat. I really couldn't even leave the house. It took a while, a lot of tinkering and experimentation and a lot of patience, but the diet worked MIRACLES. You'll feel better. And we're here for ya on the good days and bad - we're good like that.

I just want to say you always say no cheating and I LOVE that you do that because it is so tempting when you start feeling better. I of course just cheated after a day here and there of feeling good I ate something greasy and got D and then ate meat and have C OHHH the fun. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSE listen and really don't cheat.

I do always say that, you're right. Sometimes I have to tell myself, too. It can be so tempting to eat those yummy unsafe foods but, it's just not worth all the pain that comes afterward.
