Virus or IBS?

Yesterday I had some D in the early AM, worse than I have had in a while. I had some sharp pains beforehand which is also unusual. This followed a panic attack basically but all yesterday I felt kind of off and even today still I feel a bit off.

I had no fever and other than being really tired was okay.

When you have IBS how do you know when you have a virus??

(I have a baby too so I'm just concerned with passing something to him)

That sounds to me like an IBS attack. Some of my attacks I get quite a lot of pain before, but this is relieved with the D. The off feeling afterwards is normal, and you should eat as safely as possible until your stomach calms down. Usually a virus will cause vomiting and D for 1-3 days, sometimes with fever. If your D subsided pretty quickly then it's most likely not a virus.

If you're still worried about passing a virus around, try to wash your hands really often.
