I moved!

I am now a resident of the DC area as of Monday. I didn't say anything before now because I honestly didn't know if I'd actually go through with it, and now that I'm moved in and got the internet hooked up I guess it's safe to say that I'm here!

I start my new job as an interior architect at a big commercial architecture and engineering firm here on Monday.

Anyhow that's the update and why I haven't been around a ton since I'd been preparing to move, though that didn't stop me from doing some lurking now and again to keep up to date. I'll try and be around more now as I get settled. Next mission is to get a desk for the computer so I don't have to sit on the floor!

And I'll try and post some pics of the new digs soon too.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks! I'm excited but a little nervous as anyone would be starting a new job I guess. I really liked the people during the interview though so I hope it is a great fit for me.

And I like the new hair by the way!

Thanks! I started my new job today. It's tough to get back into the swing of things after having almost a month with no working.

How are things with you going? Doing any better lately?

Congrats again on the new job! You will get back into the routine in no time at all!

I'm holding my own. I'm in a pretty bad flare and have been for the last month or so. Have had to increase my steroids to a pretty high dose and they are wreaking havoc on me. My hands are really swollen and its hard to type so I have only been posting short replies. I see the rheumy again in 2 weeks, not sure what else she can do though.

Another DC board member! DC is now, officially, the Place to Be.

Congrats on the new job, and I hope your move went smoothly. Are you working in NW? I'll be crossing my fingers for a clean, private bathroom on an empty floor at your new office for you.

Thanks! I'm working in Falls Church - the reverse commute is a fabulous concept I've discovered.

As for the bathroom, I've yet to check it out, but you have to go outside the office into the hall by the elevators I believe. So a little set aside, but obviously people know that's where you're going when you leave.
