Don't have time, energy, or brain power to put pics up yet, but Mia Margaret was born Sept. 18 at 4:03 pm. She is ADORABLE, we love her to death. I was shocked it was a girl, I really thought it was a boy, and so did the doc! She was 7 lbs 1 oz, and 19 inches. Breastfeeding is working, but making me sore so I'm not a pro yet. (no "real" milk yet, but I feel it coming, ha ha). the induction was NO peice of cake! First epidural didn't take--why me? Second one worked, but not enough. Went from 3cm to 10cm in about 1.5 hours and doctor had to speed over to the hospital. Dang, that was the hardest thing I ever did, didn't expect the foreceps either!
BUT--it's all worth it. We got home this afternoon and we're trying to settle in and figure out when and how to sleep. I'm on painkillers because I had a pretty huge episiotomy and I'm pretty uncomfortable. But--we did it!! We're home! And she's the best!

Congratulations! I know from our own experience that the labor/birth doesn't always go as expected. You plan all you can and then go with what actually happens ( easier said then done) Those first few sleep deprived weeks were probably the best of my life- I hope you savor every moment!

Congratulations! I thought you were having a girl. I can't wait to see pictures of her. Soreness goes along with bf no matter how many times you do it. The beginning just sucks but it does get better. Don't be afraid to talk to a lacation consultant if you have any problems. Did you have pitocin? If you went from 3cm to 10 cm in 1-1/2 hrs after you got your 2nd epi, it sounds like it worked. That is great for a first time mom. Enjoy motherhood !

I checked every day after Monday to see if you posted! Congratulations!!! I love the name Mia too. So pretty. Just like her I'm sure!
Lots of luck with her. Get some sleep if you can! Lucky you got painkillers! I had a 3rd degree episiotomy and got NO painkillers! AND I had a 3rd degree with the second one too! Talk about "why me?"!!! It was killer trying to get around so I can feel for ya!!!

Congratulations! Hoping everything is going well. Getting lots of sleep when you can! For the episiotomy can you not put some ice on it. If you wrap ice in a maxi pad and put it there it might give you some relief! I remember after having my daughter the nurse would crack this pad and I would put it where the episiotomy was and it was so cold it was a huge relief. I remember healing really fast with this! Take care of yourself and Mia (beautiful name by the way) and yes the milk will come soon. Sue

Congratulations!! Gosh, it seems like just yesterday that your little baby timeline started on your posts and I remember thinking how far away it seemed and now you have your daughter! I can't wait to see pictures and I'm so glad that everything went well - hope you're feeling back to normal soon enough.
Can't wait to hear all the great tales of Mia now as she grows up and does cute things. What's she going to be for halloween??

Little girls are SOOOO wonderful!
I'm really happy for you! It didn't sound too bad at all. Please post pics when you can, baby. And SLEEP for God's sake. Do not stay up staring at her, as I did with Kayleigh for four months!LOL!

Here are two pictures---most of my pics are of her sleeping since that's what she does most of the time. Taking care of a newborn is hard work! But last night she slept in her crib in her room for the first time and did great. I actually got probably 6 hours of sleep altogether, and I feel much better today. Hopefully it keeps going this way!
The first picture is right after I delivered. You can't tell how much pain I had just gone through, which is good! She was very alert right at first. The second is home in her pack and play.

She is just SO gorgeous! And so tiny! Absolutely beautiful, you must be so proud and happy. And glad you got a few hours sleep, hopefully it'll continue that way... (fingers tightly crossed for you!)
And can I just so how amazing you look?!! You would never, ever guess at all you'd just been through, absolutely amazing. As someone who's not had kids (yet! ) I'm always utterly stunned at how strong & brave women are going through all that, and the mention of forceps just about had me fainting! I really don't think I could do that.
Well done you anyway, hope your cutie-pie keeps sleeping some at night, and you get enough shut-eye. Oh, and Congratulations!

Hey! Oh, she is so adorable! And you look amazing in the first picture, especially considering what you had just been through! You look so cute together! Hope she has kept up letting you sleep for a few good solid hours - I know sometimes it doesn't happen too often!
Thanks for posting the pics, I'd been wondering about your little baby girl!
