This is published on poetry.com and also in a few books....however, I thiiiiink if I was to go back and edit it would not refer to Daddy because it was from MY heart...but still, it was from my heart in Oct. 03.
Daughter For Kayleigh
Delicate tiny hands Grasping awkwardly at hair Aroma of baby powder Dancing through the air Wonderful lashes long Batting, eyes gazing into mine Gummy toothless smiles Melt my heart each time Hair of gold so fine No mortal can hope to tame Skin of silk, pale as ivory No fault, no hate, no shame A gift unparalleled to any This child has brought such bliss A mother and father eternally thankful For their daughter's sweet kiss
